There are great views all the way along Portsdown Hill with several parking areas. There is also a pub, the Churchillian. At the Fareham end of the hill is Fort Nelson/Royal Armouries. Entrance is free and it is easy to spend half a day here. There are galleries containing canon from all ages, representations of the old barracks, a long tunnel leading underneath the fort to the old magazines and gun emplacements. In the parade ground there is a large tent containing more canon and even part of the Iraqi supergun. There are ramparts to wander round as well. At times they fire some of the guns. Currently undergoing renovation but still lots to see.
