this is a lovely aquarium, lots of informative pieces and displays. We had a 2 & 7 yr old and they were entertained. However I have been to ''The Deep'' in Hull (same conservation trust as this) and it is a lot better. Also parts of this Aquarium seemed to ''clog up'' with people moving through the centre at the same time. The Tunnel you see on the picture for this place as well is a bit dissapointing.

The resturant was good as it had a soft play area, the food and drinks were a tad expensive, but aren't they always.

Worth a look, but prob wouldn't go again

i am usually amazed by the littlest things, i found this visit boring, most of the tanks are scratched, the smell of the open water tanks is vile, not much to see but fish, the otters were asleep but the stench of their play pen was the worst, i ddnt think the almost £10 to get in was worth it, id rather go to sealife.....its good that once youve been in you can visit again for free the same day, staff were pleasant but the cafe prices extortionate. i would recommend for people taking children but even so the prices dont live up to getting your monies worth!

Went to the Blue Reef as I live in Portsmouth and found a 20% off voucher. The staff were very welcoming and we got a stamp to allow us entry all day. There were plenty of activities and a list of talks and events. The tanks were clean and the fish seemed very well kept. Each tank had a list of fish with basic information about them. It's not too long, so doesn't seem to be over-kill and just right for a family. There is also a park out the back, which is useful after going round the attraction. The otters were also a welcome surprise. I thought the value was good. One drawback is the tunnel is not as impressive as other aquatic attractions in the uk, apart from that an enjoyable day.

I think that the price charged is not reflected in the exhibits and you are out the other side before you know it.

It is one of the smaller blue reef aquariums nationwide but kids love it and there is an outside space now to play in. Location is right by Southsea beach. Make sure you get any money off vouchers you can find before you go or else it is very expensive for what it is
