“Enjoyed our Stay”

Stayed one night for a party hosted at the hotel. The staff were amazing, every one of them helpful, cheerful and polite. The common areas looked OK, but the room was 'tired' and could do with a good makeover, but was basically clean and the bed was comfortable. Couldn't fault the food - good food at the party and excellent breakfast the following morning. On the whole, value for money.

stopped for one night in February.the hotel stank of mildew, due to a leaking flat roof(leaking for months according to the staff).three lots of "clean" cutlery had dried food on them.the resteraunt ceiling had a hole in it.the tiles in front of the bar were cracked with huge holes in them.on the plus side, the reception staff were very apologetic(almost embarrassed) and explained that management were aware of the problems, they just were not willing to spend out on jobs that needed doing.i complained to the group about this and asked for a full refund.they will not give me my money back !I have reported them tho food health and hygiene.trust me,never go to this hotel if you value your health.i am qualified in health and hyheine and this is the worst I have come across.a total dissregard for peoples basic cleanliness needs, and no chance of a refund.all they want is your money.once they have it,they no longer care.

Room Tip: go to another hotel

I have been a guest at the hotel every week besides weekends for the past 12 months. All the receptionists have a very helpful friendly manner which makes the stay feel like I'm home from home. They go out of there way to make it a pleasant week and would like to give them my appreciation for al they have done and continue to do. I would highly recommend this hotel as it's not only good value for money but has a nice atmosphere throughout.
Kind regards
Joe.

I have stayed here several times, but not for three years, and was concerned about some of the poor reviews.
However I think they are unnecessarily harsh as I continue to find the Farmhouse good value.
I paid £75 B & B for an executive room (£60 for a standard): large comfortable bed, seating area with table and leather sofa. May be in need of some modernisation, but compared to the Holiday Inn Express £130 per night over the Bank Holiday, I really do not see the complaints are justified.
The room was clean and quiet, bathroom small but adequate. I was impressed that the free shower gels and soaps were replaced daily.
The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order. How nice to eat a freshly cooked breakfast instead of the lukewarm congealed offerings of some buffet breakfasts.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and you have a choice of eating in the quiet lounge or next door at the lively Hungry Horse.
So do not be afraid to give it a try, like me you may end up being pleasantly surprised.

Room Tip: If you can afford it go for the larger executive rooms which are on quieter sides of the hotel.

Not sure where to start with this place:-
It's a little bit like The Hills Have Eyes does hotels....
I stayed here purely because of price. The 'better' hotels were all ridiculously high prices due to the Easter School Holidays. My 1st night was only £60 but I would never pay more than £45/50 in future for this hotel unless it included breakfast.

My first room was above the main entrance
DO NOT ACCEPT A ROOM HERE AT THE WEEKEND IF YOU WANT ANY SLEEP!

This hotel provides budget weddings and parties so be prepared for lots of drunk youngsters and children running around. It's definitely party central at the weekend.

The bedroom was very cold and could've done with a better duvet plus the pillows need to be thrown and renewed. Great sized room but in serious need of refurb and better curtains.
The bathroom was well below parr and really needs refurbishment. The cheapest and worst toilet paper (I bought some from rhe garage) nasty cheap toiletries and the heated towel rail didn't work. The shower was powerful but twice I showered in cold water which couldn't be explained by reception.
Friday night was a dream...N O T... with bangung on my door at 4am by lost partygoers and there was a fight outside that went on...and on....and on...
The reception staff leave and there is only a porter in charge at night but he is not able to access anything!!!!????

I liked the pub attached and the youngsters that work there are trained pretty well. The food is ok but I'd definitely recommend if you have small children because there's a play area and its totally geared up towards families. The publuc toilets need regular cleaning though as there was no toilet paper and a nasty mess on Sunday afternoon.
The roast looked nice and I can recommend the ribs:0)

When you check in you'll need photo ID but its not incase of fire.....according to reception its due to wild behaviour and damage to the rooms.....nice!

I would recommend The Inn Lodge if you are on a budget; want to be on the edge of Portsmouth and dont mind basics.

This could be a great place with a few changes but alas its just another money spinner.

My bad point was when the house keeping literally burst into my room and my BF and I were in bed..... totally unacceptable and the manager said "oh they thought the room was empty!"

The room was clean but in need of refurbishment. Staff were friendly and the hotel is in a good location, with access to the Hungery Horse and a short taxi journey to the centre of Portsmouth. Parking is free. Overall good value for money at £65.
