We pre-booked an evening meal for a group of friends during a week-end in Portsmouth. Lynn and Dave were able to offer a set menu for a reasonable price and a choice of meal options. Otherwise, there was a good range of alternative menus to choose from including delicious sea-food dishes. The food was well prepared and presented and the service efficient and friendly. The upstairs dining area has been tastefully re-decorated and was perfect for a group gathering. The pub has an amazing location too which never fails to impress surrounded by some of the famous Portsmouth landmarks.

Lovely food, good service, a warm welcome and a great location, you can't ask for more than that!

Visited here on a Saturday lunchtime with friends for a catch up, I used to live in Portsmouth for years but never visited here, don’t know why but..anyway thought we’d give it a try for a change. It’s a strange place really, the bridge was removed many years ago and you have to go out of your way to get here, parking is difficult and chargeable, but it’s busy. Reason is it’s a great traditional pub with a nice bar and good food. A bit expensive but doesn’t seem to put people off, £14 for fish and chips was steep but it was nice, not brilliant but nice. One of us had a burger which looked good and he said the same good but not brilliant. My wife had fish chowder which she enjoyed. Upstairs was laid up for dinner and looked lovely. Outside is really interesting.

I stopped in here for a wonderful lunch with friends. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the waitstaff were so helpful. Our food was delicious and lunch was bountiful enough to allow just a snack for dinner! The area surrounding was so beautiful. I'd love to come back to this restaurant/pub the next time we are in the area. Lovely!
