The food was good but I have had better, unfortunatley the service was abit slow and as it was my lunch hour it was a bit rushed.

4 of us called in for a welcome meal after a day on the IOW. The staff were very polite and helpful. 2 of us had selected starters and mains and the other 2 had starters and the special of 2 fish and chips with a bottle of proseco wine. This is the second time that we have been to The Bridge and both times the staff have been chatty and welcoming. Most of the food was very good, the battered fish though was not as good as the last time, but not really bad. Given that this was a Tuesday evening they were a little quiet ,so there was no real atmosphere but that did not spoil our meal.

I frequently come here with my partner and the views and surroundings are wonderful. On a nice evening you can sit outside watch the Isle of Wight ferry berth, unload and load again and also watch the fishing boats come and go. Views across to the Spinnaker Tower are superb, as the evening gets darker, the tower is lit and shines out well.
Only downside to the Bridge Tavern is the expensive wine £5-50 for a glass of Chardonney, guess that's the price you pay for the views etc.

As has been previously reviewed the drinks are not cheap, but having said that the food is reasonably priced & there's plenty of it, the various menus have been changed recently which is nice to see.

We've been coming here for many years now & in that time the quality & standard of the cooking has varied considerably, but glad to say that over the last few visits we have found the standard to be good with little to complain about.

There's a good atmosphere in the place, the staff are always pleasant & friendly.

Mid week supper with the wife. Food was very good and came out promptly. As other dinners have commented the drinks in relation to other pubs in Portsmouth are expensive, maybe you are paying for the view and the ambience of the area ? Over all nice place to stop and eat but may turn into a treat at those prices.
