Unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Poor quality comedians not helped by faulty mic. Main act so bad he sensibly left the stage after 10 minutes. My advice... don't think of going.

We went there for our work Christmas do. Pretty disappointing evening really - the two things that saved it for us were the quality of the food, which was very good, and the company of our friends who went with us.

I'd ticked 'eat at 7pm' on the booking form but the first course came out around 8pm, by which time we were starving, apparently through a fire escape door at the back, which was letting all the very cold air into the room.

The gap between the first and main course was far too long - had the first 'comedian' been at all funny, we might have been distracted enough not to notice. The second comedian wasn't bad, but you should go home with face and belly-ache from laughing so much after a night at Jongleurs - this has previously been our experience at the Southampton one which closed down, and another small local venue near us.

At the end of the 'comedy' acts/dinner, we were shuffled into the cattle-market, Tiger Tiger, which we couldn't wait to get out of. There were far too many people in there, which made you fear for your safety if there had been a fire - just trying to get to the stairs reminded us of Hillsborough.

We ended our night back in the pub where we'd started, having a much nicer time!

Our advice would be to spend your money more wisely elsewhere.

Worst comedians I have ever seen ranging from a magic act which might have gone down well with 5 yr olds, to a bloke who gave up halfway through his act.

Food was poor and service not much better; whether or not you got any potatoes or chipolatas on your plate was a lottery.

Meal was accompanied by terrible old music (Brotherhood of Man, Flying Pickets etc). The whole place is painted in a nausea inducing blue colour and the atmosphere could best be summed up by the flaccid inflatable Santas hanging from the ceiling.

If you make it past security (must have proof of age ID even if you are a pensioner - to be fair this is standard policy in the area but it would be nice if this had been mentioned when booking) then be warned the only toilets are at the top of 2 flights of stairs.

Very confusing !!! We booked vouchers for Jongleurs Comedy night (valid for a year) through lastminute.com, when we booked the night we wanted to go we followed the proceedure on the voucher - which was advertised as Jongleurs. On the day we were going 2 friends wanted to join us so i booked directly on the Jongleurs website for them. On arrival to Highlight/ Bar Risa we were told the voucher booking was with them but the 2 additional tickets were for Jongleurs which is now round the corner in Tiger Tiger which is a different Company to them!?!? So just to say be very careful when booking as there are 2 venues, Jongleurs is now in Tiger Tiger and where Jongleurs used to be is still a Comedy Club but a different Company! I'm not sure if there is any difference in the quality of the Comedians i can only say my previous experience of Jongleurs at Gunwharf (in the odd location) was that the comedians were much, much better but saying that the club has always been a dive and Tiger Tiger is a much place.
