Bridge Farm B&B
Reviewed October 24, 2013

The owners are lovely. They came to pick us up at the end of our day walking the Cotswold Way. They cooked a delicious Thai meal.

The farm house is pretty and has a lot of character.

BUT there was not enough hot water in the bathroom for 4 of us - we had to share one bathroom. We were not warned about this so after the first one of us had our bath, there was only lukewarm and cold water left for the others. This is totally unacceptable for a B&B catering to walkers esp as it had been a cold wet rainy day for us.

I would like to recommend this place because of the friendly owners and the tasty Thai meal but the hot water situation ruined it for us.

Four of us walking the Cotswold Way and we booked two en-suite rooms here in good faith only to find that the property has no en-suite facilities and the four of were sharing one bathroom across the landing from our rooms. Although we were welcomed upon arrival there was no offer of even a cup of tea which we had experienced at previous B&Bs. The rooms are extremely dated and both couples felt the bed linen was not fresh. In addition, although the weather was extemely hot we were advised to keep the bedroom windows closed as otherwise the cat would come in during the night !! Would definitely not recommend this place.

This B&B offers a unique opportunity for those staying to be brought into the family as guests if they want. Both Wendy and Malcolm Watchman are welcoming, educated, and well traveled people who take a real interest in those visiting them. Their house is filled with mementos of their travel, and they are fascinating people to have a conversation with. If one prefers privacy, the rooms are large, well appointed, and very comfortable. You are welcomed into the inviting and comfortable living area, and this is a real treat. The bathroom is larger than many bedrooms encountered; it has a large tub with a handheld shower. The bathroom is not in the bedroom, but across the hall. The breakfast provided is very good and plentiful. For an evening meal, this B&B offers an unexpected and amazing option. The Watchman’s son and his Tai wife live in the cottage next door, and their daughter-in-law is a gourmet cook. The Watchman’s will take you to and from a pub two miles away for your evening meal, or you can have their daughter-in-law provide dinner for you. If you like Tai food, I doubt you will ever find any that is better, the meal prepared for us was truly remarkable. This B&B is highly recommended for those walking the Cotswold Way; it is on the route and provides a comfortable and memorable stay.

Room Tip: Both rooms in this small B&B are very nice and spacious. The front bedroom is light and appeali...
