Hi, just a quick thank you to Annie, Sandro,Claire,Catherine and chefs for the excellent meal had by all on our antique dealers night out. Quite a number of the dealers were really impressed with the standard of food and service so will be returning with their partners in the near future.
Thank you again.
P.S. Do i get a free whiskey for this review.

We had a very chilled Saturday night stay at the lion inn. On arrival we sat by the roaring open fire in the bar with our gin and tonics. The rooms were immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, the evening meal and the breakfast were excellent. We have paid a lot more for this quality of food elsewhere. The staff were all friendly and efficient, even though it was very busy we didn't have to wait for anything. I honestly can't fault it, it's a charming place and I highly would recommend it.

We had the honour of being the first guests to stay here after renovations were completed. When we arrived we were greeted by a group of staff - and Annie the proprietor - who seemed extremely relieved that we had arrived and that they had made it to the 'opening the doors' stage. Much merriment and several pints ensued.

Our room was beautiful - Annie's former life as a conference organizer has gifted her with an understanding of how small touches matter. There were some housekeeping issues that needed to be resolved, but we had the opportunity to see that they had indeed been fixed when we returned 6 days later.

The inn is stylish but understated, the staff are very obviously happy to be there, and we would really love to visit again.

Wonderful atmosphere and fabulously attentive staff. Charming open fire, fantastic food. Annie and all the team made my partner (and my dog) very welcome. This place is a hidden gem. We stayed two nights, ate dinner one night (which was superb) and had breakfast both mornings. We both ate fish the first night, which was cooked perfectly, we made good use of the open fire by the bar and enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast both mornings with lots of fresh quality coffee, all the food was perfect, the only room service we had was coffee brought to the room but this was beautifully presented and arrived promptly. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the lovely garden outside and found all the staff to be helpful and polite. This place is dog and family friendly and is clearly very popular with the locals too. We can't wait to visit again,

Room Tip: Room above bar slightly noisy as expected, all rooms are lovely and any extras are no hassle for the...

We have got into the habit of having an overnight on our way back from our annual trip to Cornwall, just to break the journey back to Yorkshire. We will be back. An excellent refurbishment, quirky rooms, good food and attentive staff. Only minor criticism was not being able to get any heat in the bathroom, but we were there just as the weather turned cold, so will make allowances for this. Just to put the icing on the cake, very good value.
