“Welcome fire on a cold day”
Reviewed March 26, 2013 via mobile

At first we thought they weren't open for lunch as no none was inside the dining room or bar. We weren't surprised given it was a freezing cold Tuesday. But a lady appeared and assured us lunch was on and invited us in to sit by the very welcoming fire. The beer and food were very good and we enjoyed it in the very pleasant surroundings with congenial service.

“Very rude”
Reviewed March 22, 2013 via mobile

Didn't get in the door! Was a Friday afternoon and told by the landlady very rudely, we are not open as I am too busy!

Better off going to the Lion Inn where service and welcome was fantastic

“Plaisterers Arms Winchcombe”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

The Plaisterers Arms is probably now not the best pub in Winchcome, because it faces very good competition - The Corner Cupboard and the Lion have recently refurbished and upgraded. And there are also very good restaurants in easy walking distance too (try the Wesley House and the Michelin-starred place at 5 North St).
But the Plaisterer's is a decent if rather old-fashioned pub with good beer and easy parking right outside in the little square (Free but 2 hours only - be careful - the parking wardens are most severe). All the better if you want to browse the antique shops.

“Nice pub, felt "local" rather than full of trippers (like us).”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Had lunch there, great soup and baguettes. Wye Valley beer was excellent and later in day went back to watch the rugby. Full of locals, most with a dog it seemed, and the atmosphere was friendly and a lot of fun.

“Evening meal whilst touring”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Called into the Olde Village Pub just as they were opening for the evening. Although a large party were expected at 19.30 (Brass band having a delayed Christmas Linch !!) we were told we were welcome to eat provided we vacated the table by that time - no problem. The food was home cooked and very good particularly the starter which I chose (my favourite) pan fried chicken breasts' Most welcoming and good service. Will go again next time in the area.
