As an event and congress organiser I need to travel a lot for work and I'm spoilt because most the time I'm sleepting in a five star hotel.
This time it was for pleasure so I was searching for smaller places with all the services I'm used to. In zensalodge I definitely found what I was looking for... a beautiful place (design and cosy), a heavenly bed, fresh flowers in the room, a delicious breakfast prepared with love and good ingredients by the host of the house, very well located close by cape point, simon's town, ... .
I would definitely go again and if I had the money I would invite all my best friends to spend a whole week in this little piece of paradise...

We stayed at ZenSa lodge for one week in the off season (May 2008) and had a fantastic time! Beautiful interior designs combined with the most amazing sunsets made our stay with Philippe and Anke (and their little dog Eames) unforgettable.

It's trully 'Zen' in South Africa !!!

'till next time...

Our stay at Zensa Lodge was more than words can say...
A little paradise just outside of Capetown! Relax at the lodge or ask the owners where to go to do just about anything you've got your mind on... Can't wait to go back!!!

Beautiful Lodge in Scarborough.
Friendly welcome by Anke and Philippe.
The rooms are very spacious with a separate dressing and bathroom. A lovely terrace, garden and swimming pool. The whole lodge is very stylish especially the two lounges where one can relax in the evening. A Superb breakfast is served on the terrace close to the swimming pool. The beach is on walking distance from the lodge (nice views). ZenSa Lodge is the ideal place to stay if one wants to explore the Cape Point area, Simon’s Town and Cape Town itself. You wondering for watching whales, having a nice sight seeing or just a nice restaurant, then Anke and Philippe will be happy to assist you with a lot of up to date information. A small paradise on earth and the place to be, if you want to experience the warm welcome of a friendly Flemish couple in South Africa.

We booked this lodge after some time surfing the Internet for a place to stay near Cape Town.

Zensa Lodge is on the outskirts of a quiet and protected/safe village, Scarborough, which is very pleasant, but not really designed for tourists (which is good), though the locals are very welcoming and helpful and seemed pleased when they see tourists.

The lodge is very stylish designed and extremely comfortable; much of the interior design and decor looked brand new and very modern. The rooms are well furnished and the whole hotel is very peaceful with soothing relaxing features and comfortable furnishings with soft cushions and gentle music playing all day. There is always somewhere comfortable to sit and relax away from the other guests if you want some peace and quiet.

The pool is small but an amazing feature set in a lovely space near the house. And I'm sure Phillip or Anke (the owners) would make you a liquid or light lunch beside the pool if you experience warm weather (which we unfortunately did not :)

The common lounges are again lovely areas, delightful and designwise furnished, with TV's and a great trust-bar in case of hunger or just longing for a snack. I can recommend the pure white organic chocolate! Why not accompany that with a nice bottle of red wine from Wellington, made for chocolate eating. Loved it!

You can order dinner at Zensa, but you are dependent on the owners to make it. Although they are good chefs with the best hospitality ever - you would not like to depend all your meals at the Lodge. Scarborough has one restaurant near by, Camelrock, which has a rather rough image, but once you get to know the waitresses and the food, we will not hesitate to recommand that for an evening or two. A car is needed to get around and Rioja is another restaurant near by, which has surprisingly good Asian as well as South-African food. But Kitima in Hout Bay is a "must-see-and-eat". Ask the staff for details.

We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, particularly the owners, Phillip and Anke. It was almost as being at a friends house, except we didn't have to do anything in order to enjoy our time there. They are an exception when it comes to genuin hospitality, good travelling tips and sympatic personalities.

All in all a wonderful holiday in a fantastic lodge which we would thoroughly recommend.
