“Thoroughly recommended!”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

As part of my 60th birthday celebrations, 12 of us paid a private visit to the house. We had a guided tour conducted by family members, namely Caroline and her father, and coffee provided by her mother. It was a most entertaining visit, with numerous amusing anecdotes about events at the house, both ancient and modern, which made my birthday truly memorable. Thoroughly recommended!

“A 'must' if you are in the area”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Although the house is only open on Thursdays and Sundays, our group were very fortunate in that it was open to us as a special courtesy on a Saturday morning as we were celebrating a friend's birthday. So we had the house to ourselves. We were welcomed by Caroline and her mother with coffee to kick off our visit. Caroline and her father, David, were very humorous during our tour of the house and the gardens, which are lovely. The anecdotes about the family were hilarious. The tour was extremely interesting - lots of history. There may or may not be ghosts; depends. I think there are. It is one of the best tours we have been on, so give it a go. There are no airs and graces even though the family are very proud of their heritage. Brilliant.

“Elizabethan Manor House”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Situated three miles from Tetbury on the road tom Avening.
Open on Thursday and Sunday afternoon only from 2 to 5 pm, and it does take three hours as David and then Carolyn take you round on a guided tour. Carolyn was very droll and humorous in her talk. The TV crew were filming on the day we had our tour but it did not spoil the house or gardens, and added to the merriment. A most enjoyable day and house to see. Regards Gary Saunders

“Not sure about this one”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

Whilst the tour was both entertaining and amusing we felt there was very little of the house on view.
It's certainly unique and worth a peak but the house was very busy with a coach tour and a military dinner which did not make for the best experience.
Overall it seemed pricey but maybe Thursday is a better day to visit.

“high light of our trip”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

this was a fantastic day, the house and gardens are full of history, but the best part was the family. They are candid and very funny, we were made to feel very welcomed. It was the best tour iv been on and I would recommend it.
