Must be particularly visted in Spring and Autumn to fully appreciate all the different colours. Well worth a 2 to 3 hour visit.

We have visited the Arboretum both fro general visits and a couple of times for concerts in the open air.

The whole place has a magical setting with magnificent colours and textures among the trees and shrubs.

The best time to visit is undoubtedly the autumn when the leaves are changing colours.

Only part worth seeing were the Acers. Not much else you wouldn't see in an normal wood for free. No guides around, no guided tours. For the money it was a rip-off! Will not be returning, the FC could do a lot better than this, particularly as they are a publicly owned organisation.

Hi, many thanks for taking the time to submit your review, we are sorry you did not have a more enjoyable visit. Your review does not say what time of the year you visited, but as you mention the Acers maybe this was autumn?
I would just like to opportunity to explain that Westonbirt Arboretum is very different from a normal woodland. It has over 3000 different species of trees (16000 trees in total) and does try and share the story of its trees' and their origins from all over the world with our visitors - through changing seasonal trails and interpretation around the tree collection. We also offer free guided walks on weekends, Bank Holidays and Wednesdays from Easter until the end of October. I'm sorry of you missed the opportunity to partake in any of these.
With regards to the admission price, we keep this as competitive as possible and the cost of entry to Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the cheapest compared to other visitor attractions in the region. The arboretum does not make a profit, but reinvests income into the management of the tree collection and visitor facilities. I hope this helps address your concerns, but if you would like to discuss any points further, please do get in touch via westonbirt@forestry.gov.uk. Many thanks.

Had a lovely day out on the circular old arboretum walk and in the play trail.
The arboretum is always different with every changing season. The facilities are always clean and well placed.
Although as yet we have not really done a longer walk in the silk wood, there is always plenty of interest in the old arboretum. The educational activities are good as well, usually making objects with simple, often natural materials to take home.
