We have enjoyed several good eateries when visiting Stroud, but keep coming back to this laid-back and reliable staple. Although the chef has added a pop--up restaurant with an imaginative menu, we have only ever lunched here. The food is local and organic with a good selection of brunch options from chilli nachos to chunky salads and soups. The kiwi lassi was especially tangy and refreshing and the spicy apple juice was, well . . . spicy!
Downstairs can get noisy and crowded at weekends and in the summer, but upstairs provides a little more space (though still cramped) with a play area and books and mags to look through.
The atmosphere is take-us-as-you-find-us and the food is hearty and excellent value.
