On a last minute recommendation we turned up here a bit late in the evening and the chef was closing up the kitchen, but very kindly opened it up again for us - we were VERY grateful. Such delicious food - we ate off the tapas menu and had prawns, squid, manchego, patatas bravas, chorizo between 4 of us. The servings are quite big so 5 plates between us, plus some olives and ciabatta was perfect. Really impressed with the flavours and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

We found this cracking little eaterie by mistake last year when we were looking for food before the cinema. We visited twice in October this year and wondered why we waited so long to return. The menu is varied and interesting and the food is always cooked and presented to the very highest standard, service is good, and the atmosphere is always vibrant and lively. It isn't the cheapest place to eat but you get what you pay for in life and each time we've been we've left feeling very satisfied. Well worth trying out Paella night (which is exceptional value for money) but if you're struggling to find anywhere decent to eat in Stroud then look no further - this place is a must visit.

A small bistro style restaurant with a perfect welcome from friendly and polite staff who couldn't have been more attentive.
The tapas was so tasty with veggie options, we just needed bigger tables to fit all of the plates! Sticky toffee pud was out of this world!
Now that we have found it we will be back!

I've been here lots and had some lovely food! Tonight the paella, which was £12 as it wasn't on a paella evening ( when it would have been £6), was just very sloshy and tasted of raw egg! I really didn't like it, left most of it, but although the waitress asked me why I hadn't eaten it, & I said I didn't like it, they didn't take any money off the bill ! Had apple crumble after, as frankly was still pretty hungry, which was ok but not great!!! Also there weren't any other specials on the menu that appealed, all sounded a bit odd! This used to be a fav food place, and although my friends did like their paella tonight, I won't be so keen to eat there next time!

Dear Marie

Thank you for your review.
We remember your visit well on Wednesday 8th November, as we always check so see if everyone is happy: You never mentioned to us any of the points that you have put in the review?
You did said it tasted different to a previous paella to the waitress who served you but everyone at your table said they were happy?
As the waitress had mentioned this to me straight away I also directly asked your group if all was ok: the answer was'Yes'.
Should you have conveyed your concerns we would, of course, have rectified any issue as we always take huge pride in both our service and our dishes.
We wish all of our customers to feel satisfied and very happy!

Our paella recipe has not changed in nearly 5 years and our customers come back to enjoy it again and again - you mention your friends enjoyed it!
JFYI No23 Paellas are, and have always been, £5 not £6 on Tuesdays.
Also please be assured there is no egg in any of our paellas!

Equally our specials are all online should you wish to view them in advance and are also all very popular. We will always take the time to explain them if you are not familiar with them.
Some may be unusual in your opinion but they are all well planned, sometimes classic international dishes, and are made with the best ingredients and care.
You had been shown the Sharing menu too, which has another 20 dishes, so we can only apologise that you did not find anything else that appealed. This is most unusual.

Please do contact me directly so that we can understand more about how to please you personally and hopefully improve your opinion of our little bistro,

All the best

Alex

We had a takeaway Sunday roast which was also delivered which is a great service!
The roast dinners £12 each Lamb & beef were very tasty & the only thing that was not excellent were the 2 v small thin/flat Yorkshire puddings. We also requested 2 portions of the crumble & custard which tasted good but unfortunately the portion size was very small and hardly any custard. And considering it cost £12.00, £6 per portion we were disappointed. The attached photo shows one portion of the pudding.

Dear Pippa

We are very sorry to hear this: we get SO much great feedback about our delivery roasts - and the fact that they are so generous!

I have spoken the chefs about this unusual feedback to try to understand what happened.
We are wondering if you accidently shared one pud.
It is always a good idea to mention any misgivings on the day as we will always try to remedy any customer issue
Please contact me directly so that we can look into this, and be assured that this is very uncommon to say the least and we take huge pride in our Sunday service.

All the best

Alex
