What an absolute gem situated in the most idyllic of locations. The house itself is flawless from top to bottom, furnished and decorated to perfection with everything you could possibly need and more. The extra little touches made us feel even more welcome. The location is beautiful too and you feel nice and secluded. Definitely a must for anyone looking to stay in the Cotswolds, I would return every weekend if I could. Thank you for a lovely retreat!
We spent a very relaxing family weekend at The Chairman's Retreat. The house is beautifully maintained, very well equipped, warm and welcoming and everything is of the highest quality with attention paid to the finest detail. Hosts Chris and Suzanne have gone to great lengths to make the house comfortable and homely - including toys and games for the children and a BBQ in the garden. The location is perfect with views over the Slad Valley and lovely Cotswold countryside with many footpaths for good walks. For eating out Stroud town centre is just 2 miles away and walkable although along quite a busy road but easy parking if you prefer to drive. We would most definitely return for a longer stay.
A welcoming home with great views over the surrounding countryside.
The house is in a lovely village and has great views.
Inside the house meets a very high standard and we found some lovely welcoming gifts in the fridge to get us started on our stay :) Flapjacks were a hit with the children but the Prosecco was more up my street;)
There are 4 bedrooms - 3 of which were doubles and 2 rooms more than large enough to use a travel cot or fold away toddler bed (the 3rd double can also fit a travel cot if it was needed.
We found the house a good base to discover the surrounding area.
Being on holiday with children we were mostly too lazy to prepare difficult meals and so we sampled 2 local takeaways which we liked - Rajdoot indian (collection) and Fat Tonis Pizza!
