“A real gem”
Reviewed May 31, 2013 via mobile

Number Nine is everything one might want in a guesthouse... a warm welcome, a large, spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable king size bed, and lots of character in an old stone house well located in the centre of town. Breakfast was excellent. One precaution:If you are over 5 ft 10 mind your head. Thank you to our wonderful hosts.

The location was great. Jim and Carol are friendly and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and had dinner and drinks in some very good places that they recommended. Jim really does prepare the best English breakfast we have ever been served. I selected this B&B from a Rick Steves' book. We were in the top floor room and you do have to be careful not to bump your head on the beams just as is stated in the information. I liked the view of the rooftops and courtyards. After being on a cruise ship for 12 days, I certainly enjoyed having a large bathtub. Jim and Carol are wonderful hosts.

I visited the Cotswolds in mid-April. It was still winter there, but I had a very warm time indeed at Number Nine! Jim and Carol are really wonderful hosts, full of local information and advice on restaurants, and I felt like I was an old friend of theirs. Rates are very reasonable, and the "full English" breakfast is superb.

I was in the top floor room, so I had to watch my head, but it wasn't really a problem, and Jim helped with my luggage up and down. He and Carol do everything possible to ensure your stay is comfortable and fun. This is the very best of a "B&B experience" and I recommend it highly.

We stayed in room 1 for one night, shame we weren't staying for longer. Great welcome, large room with en-suite, all very clean with tea and biscuits on the room. Very friendly hosts and a great breakfast. Thank you Jim and Carol.

We chose this spot from Rick Steves! IT does not disappoint! We stayed in rooms 1 and 2. Both were large and clean!! We had great tips from Jim as he is a real Foodie who likes to discuss your dinner reviews at breakfast. Parking is sometimes challenging but late afternoon we moved in close. The location is great for walking around town. We walked through the countryside and hitched a ride back from a very nice couple. Breakfasts were just as described, Super! Jim and Carol are great hosts.

Booked this B&B on the strength of its great reviews on Tripadvisor and am delighted we did. We booked room 1 , again using the reviews, and were very pleased with it. A bright spacious room, extremely comfy bed and a spotlessly clean ensuite with decent shower. I agree totally re the breakfast ,good ingredients freshly cooked to order. Jim recommended the recently revamped Bell pub for Sunday evening food. It was only 150 yards away and we really enjoyed our meal. There is live music on a Sunday and the young guy on acoustic guitar was super( everything from the Eagles to Adele). Just need another reason to visit Stow and Number Nine again......

Room Tip: Car parking may be an issue in high summer but with our 4 o'clock checkin we had no probs.

B and B in great location. Spotlessly clean. Jim and Carol were very friendly and kind. Room on top floor is fine as long as you are not too tall. Breakfast is a highlight. Don't skimp. Order the lot on offer. Cooked superbly. Great fresh fruit salad as well. Cannot fault it. Would highly recommend!
