“Superb Hotel - Stunning location”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

I recently attended a wedding which was held at Wyck Hill House Hotel and Spa and I feel compelled to inform anyone looking for a suitable location for getting married or simply seeking a relaxing and peaceful weekend away, to give this venue serious consideration.

Set against a stunning Cotswold backdrop, this superb Hotel offers beautiful grounds impressively sized bedrooms, fine dining, friendly and efficient staff and overall excellent value for money.

The Wyck Hill staff could not have been more attentive and helpful from the moment the wedding party and guests arrived until the moment we all departed - a fact that certainly contributed significantly to the wonderful time that we all had whilst staying there and a huge thank you goes out them for making our stay so enjoyable.

We are so close to giving this place a good rating. The barman was unfriendly at the start and then warmed up. But, why not be friendly from the start? Greet people warmly... please.
The chef that made the lamb... fantastic. Well worth the price.
The dessert.... avoid! Stewed fruit. Terrible.
The paper thin walls are terrible if someone puts a TV on. I phoned the reception to complain and to be fair, the customers people next door turned their T.V. off.
Not fair on them and not fair on us to have to wake up from a blaring T.V.
There's so much potential at this place. We weren't invited to see a spa or pool, so I don't know what we missed.

Room Tip: Not the rooms away from the main building. Avoid. Avoid .

Really lovely hotel, food excellent and eating in the conservatory a must. Have stayed here twice and both times had lovely big rooms. So close to all the key places in the Cotswolds, such a peaceful place.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Orangery have their own little terrace area

stayed just the one night in a neat and large stable room which probably needs a refurb but was still very clean and comfortable apart from the awful pillows. The hotel is set in an attractive country setting close to Stowm on the Wold with very relaxed outdoor seating for the rare sunny days. The bar is still but user friendly and the restaurant is just ordinary at best. An overhaul here would vastly improve the hotel as it would transform it from its B&B styled dining room into a enjoyable place to eat. Staff are all friendly and helpful and its overall good value for money.

My partner and I stayed for one night and all I can say is I wish it had been 1 week.
From the minute we arrived to the moment we checked out, we had such a fabulous time.
The building and grounds as well as the views are amazing. Our room was large and spacious. Luxurious bed and furniture with everything you needed. 2 windows with different aspects across the valley and over the gardens. The bathroom was adequate with a power shower and large bath. Maybe the only fault was some of the trim to the bath panel and legs to the sink need attention however it was not a problem which warranted a complaint.
All the staff from reception, bar, front of house, waiters and waitress as well as cleaning and maintenance staff couldn't do enough, helpful, happy and chatty - all what you need.
Food was fantastic. Wonderful selection at both breakfast and dinner. Fresh wholesome food, well presented and cooked to perfection. Great selection of wines, beers and spirits as well as champagne and sparking wines too.
The building and rooms are amazing. A true old house cared for and well kept. Nothing out of place, nothing tired looking but bright and clean. It is a credit to the management and staff alike.
The grounds well kept, terrace area and tables. Even the smoking area had comfortable chairs, heaters and a view to die for. All round fantastic place which I highly recommend to anyone. We will certainly go back soon and cant wait. Keep up the excellent service!!!

Room Tip: We had room 17 which was ideal. Its a corner room with amazing views across the lawn and breakfast c...

We stayed at the Wyck Hill Hotel for a one night stay and is was a really good chill out break.

The building is lovely with lots of rooms to explore. It featured a small bar and a library with lovely views across the surrounding countryside leading to a sun terrace.

There was a fabulous outside sitting area with comfy chairs and heaters. As a non smoker it was a shame that the smokers were in here too (sorry smokers)

Our room was a lovely large executive first floor room with a railed patio. The views here were lovely. We later discovered on a walk a very over grown garden beyond the trees which if tidied up could really make this hotels grounds even better. There were Japanese Acers and all sorts of lovely shrubs hiding in the over grown grass and trees - such a shame :(

The room featured a king size bed, two comfy chairs and coffee table and two comfy outdoor chairs on the patio. I did put in a special request for the bedding to have no feather content due to an allergy but this was ignored. It was changed but not in time to avoid 2 days of sinus/nose bleeds

The bathroom was large with good toiletries.

There was a large uncovered area for hanging clothes. What I find frustrating sometimes is that if gowns aren't supplied please remove the gown hangers. I would always happily pay extra for gowns if they are offered but to supply the hangers and not the gowns seems odd to me.

The only other thing I think would help improve this room from a woman's point of view is the placement of the long mirror. It's on a wall a metre from the desk leaving no room to stand back and check out your outfit. There was ample space elsewhere to put the mirror. Next to the bathroom opposite the wardrobe would have been perfect ;-)

Our stay was a DBB package and there was a table d'hôte menu included.

We chose from this menu as there were some fantastic choices. Both starting with chicken Caesar salad, followed by slow roasted belly pork then caramel sponge pudding.

All courses were absolutely fabulous in taste, textures and presentation.

We don't often return to hotels simply because there are so many to choose from we like to try somewhere else. However this restaurant makes us want to go back to the hotel all over again.

Well done to the amazing chef, the friendly non intrusive waiting staff and the management for a meal that could was nothing short of absolutely fabulous.
