The hotel is easy to find and in a great location. We stayed in the Orangery which was great as we had our own patio with nice furniture and a spacious well appointed room. Slippers and dressing gowns. The hotel itself is old and full of character the staff helpful and eager to help. I was surprised at the drink prices which I thought were reasonable. Two Bombay sapphire gins with a bottle of tonic £6 70. We had dinner included and the food was superb three courses for £25 per head. I had chicken liver parfait salmon fish cake followed by Eton mess all lovely. Would be happy to return plenty of places to see locally great hotel.

Room Tip: We had room in orangery 48 excellent avoid room 3 though

Stayed here for a night, including dinner in the restaurant and breakfast in the morning. Impeccable food and service, such as you would expect in a top class restaurant. The setting was idyllic; a large country mansion overlooking rolling hills, rabbits gambolling on the lawn in the evening, and beautiful gardens all around. The house itself is impressive, the rooms were very large, with comfortable beds and equally large modern bathrooms. The standard of cleanliness was also excellent. Didn't want to leave, as it was so very relaxing and beautiful. This property also has a spa and therapies available if you have time to be indulgent. Very reasonably priced accommodation.

POSITIVE COMMENTS:This is a lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Service and food are excellent. Rooms spacious and spotlessly clean. CRITICISMS: Calls itself a Spa but only has massages / beauty treatments and steam / sauna. No gym and no pool. Rooms far too hot, even with windows open. Shower was extremely difficult to get at the correct temperature ...... and it fluctuated from warm, to cold, to too hot without any notice! Prices were a little extreme .... £8.50 for a large glass of wine (or is that just me??). Also the hotel is not within walking distance of anywhere so you need your car. If I went to Stow-on-the-Wold again I would stay at one of the lovely hotels in the town centre.

Room Tip: Room 23 is spacious, but very hot.

Spacious rooms, modern bathroom, attentive service, excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner; what more could you want. It is centrally located in the Cotswolds and is a great location for exploring the entire area.

We stayed a couple of nights at this wonderful old hotel whilst guests at a wedding nearby. The staff are friendly and courteous. Our room was in the new extension and was spacious and well equipped, as was the bathroom. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the hotel on our first night and could not fault the service or the food. We can thoroughly recommend Wyck Hill House for anyone wanting a relaxing stay whilst holidaying or simply passing through the Cotswolds.

Great hotel in the Cotswolds. The original House is very old with a new extension. We stayed in a twin room (room 11) in the new extension & the room was huge. Very comfy beds & linen. Good bathroom & water pressure. The host Kym made us feel very welcome and was very accommodating to our needs. If staying at this hotel, I can guarantee you this is the best restaurant within 2 miles - only pubs with not appetising menus within Stow-on-the-Wold. Food was excellent & wine sommelier recommends good quality & value wines.

Room Tip: Room 11 is a great twin room but is in the new extension of the period house.

We stayed for one night en route through the Cotswalds and, having called in for afternoon tea last year, we felt confident about booking a night there. Our room was in the 'Garden' annex, which is a modern three floored extension which has been built onto the main house.

The receptionist on arrival was efficient, but not particularly friendly. She gave us directions to our room, but there was no offer of help with our luggage, which was a disappointing and not the standard of service we were expecting.

After finding our room, we went down to the bar for a drink and were invited to sit in the covered outside area in the lovely, well maintained gardens. This was very pleasant with soft seats and table lamps.. The barman told us how to switch on the overhead heaters if we were cold.

Full afternoon tea was available, but we decided not t eat too much as we were booked in for dinner early in the evening. I asked for one slice of carrot cake and my husband asked for one scone with jam and cream, plus tea for two. The cake was in two tiny squares; one being almond cake, which I had not asked for and there were no cake forks.

After tea we returned to the room to get ready for dinner. The room was modern and spacious and had a lovely view over the tree tops to the hills beyond. The bathroom was modern and clean, however we did have a problem with the bath, it took about half and hour to half fill with only hot water and we had to run the shower to cool the water down. The following morning, we reported this to the receptionist who said she would get someone from maintenance to attend to it. We were also surprised that plastic cups are provided in the bathroom and there was no fresh milk for tea, however I am sure that if we had asked for some, it would not have been a problem.

Our room was made up as a twin as requested, but the duvets on the single beds were king size! They were also too warm; ok in the winter, but we found them to be far too hot and therefore did not sleep well, although the beds were comfortable.

We had been looking forward to dinner and we were not disappointed. The conservatory restaurant has lovely views and the service was smooth and efficient. The food was amazing; a very imaginative menu and artistically presented. Breakfast was also excellent with a good choice of cereals and fruits and perfectly cooked items.

We did not stay long enough to try any of the treatments in the spa and were were surprised to find out that there is no pool which is misleading as we think that any guest would expect a spa to have one.

Wyck Hill House is a lovely place to stay, peaceful and comfortable as long as the plumbing is working ok and the duvets are summer weight and the correct size for the beds!

We highly recommend the food and service, and look forward to returning soon.
