We have never enjoyed a meal so much. There was nothing to fault. The meat was cooked to perfection. I had the duck, which was succulent and pink and my wife had the steak, which melted in the mouth.

We stayed at Number Four for 3 nights as a short honeymoon following our wedding. We could not fault the hotel, we were given a warm welcome by the owner and upgraded to a suite on arrival which was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Even though the hotel is near a busy road, we did not hear the traffic very much once inside, and did not feel this had an impact on our journeys to and from the hotel. The hotel is situated in an ideal spot to explore the neighbouring villages/attractions. The staff were fantastic and were ALWAYS polite, very helpful and attentive (especially at meal times). The hotel was VERY clean and decorated with a very modern look. The food was very good and could not fault any dinner or breakfast that we had. Many thanks to the staff for making our stay perfect and the good weather was an added bonus! Looking forward to staying again, have already recommended it to family and friends.

We stayed for two nights at The Number Four @ Stow & can honestly say we enjoyed the experience from start to finish--the staff were very friendly & attentive. The Hotel was lovely with very comfortable beds & much needed air conditioning, as it was very hot over Easter. The food at Cutler's Restaurant was wonderful, with just enough choice to please most people.Would definitely recommend it's location, although on a busy road, it was still very pleasant sitting out until 10 o'clock on the terrace as it was very warm.

My wife and I stayed at the No 4 for the first time and liked the reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel was completely renovated in 2010 and the facade is the most lovely Cotswold stone with well tended gardens and views of open countryside. We were warmly welcomed by one of the owners Caroline who personally showed us to our room (110). Very nice with flat screen TV and views of the open countryside and air con. The staff are mainly German which makes for good efficiency. All were so very welcoming and stopped what ever they were doing as you passed to chat and ask how you were. We ate in the restaurant two nights and the food was excellent as was the wine. We cannot recommend this hotel enough - it's a gem.

Beautiful hotel with great service. Everybody very curteous and helpful. Food very good. Rooms well presented - only criticism was the space around the bed was small and the hanging space could have done with a door - pretty minor criticisms I admit!! Although located by a busy junction we had absolutely minimal noise from the road - and our room was right next to the road. All in all a great place to stay and we hope to go back soon. Also perfectly located to explore the beautiful Cotwsold towns. Thanks to everybody at the hotel for a wonderful weekend.

My husband and I had the grandparents watching the kids, while we spent one night at Number Four at Stow. We loved the look of the hotel from the outside and were happy to see the modern decor on the inside. The room was pure luxury. We melted into the bed, which had high thread count sheets, fluffy down pillows and down duvets as well as a foam mattress topper. So comfortable! There was a large flat screen TV on the wall. The fridge had complimentary bottled water. The bathroom was nice, and included a really great shower with high water pressure. The towels were even nice!
We ate dinner at the restaurant, which was lovely. The service is top-notch. They really seemed to care about our happiness and wanted to get to know us. The food was delicious and presented beautifully.
We had a little trouble getting to and from the train station in Moreton. When we arrived, it took us about 30 minutes to get a taxi. On the day we were leaving, one of the Number Four staff tried unsuccessfully to get us a taxi, and ended up driving us to the train station themselves. They acted like the lack of taxis was a rare occurrence. We were happy that they went out of their way to help us.
It's settled into a little valley, just outside of Stow. If you don't have a car, it is a little bit of a challenging walk into town. I think older people would be winded, as you have to walk up a long steep hill to get to Stow.
