As the title infers, this was our first wedding anniversary and my Birthday - yes "Happy Birthday" was played as I walked up the aisle! So, you can imagine this meal had to be rather special. And, wow, it certainly was special. The owner was delightful and talked us through everything, incredibly friendly but only when you wanted it. And the food, well - it was simply superb, the only word for it! The pork belly was incredible - as everyone else says - the chef (hubby-owner) talked to us afterwards and we know the secret of how it's cooked! Tried it once at home - and although very nice, not a patch on his. You must have the shared desert platter so that you can try a bit of everything - and then struggle to get out of your chair. Highly, highly recommended.

After reading amazing reviews on Trip Advisor, my husband and I booked a table for an evening meal (during the week). The food was lovely and the staff were really friendly. The only downside is that it is more of a cafe than a restaurant, when we arrived at 7.30 there were three other tables halfway through their meals. By the time we got our main courses we were almost the last customers, we then felt in a rush to leave. I would recommend going here during the day but not for a romantic evening out - I think they close at 9.00.

One of our favorite restaurants during our Cotswolds trip and we had plenty of good meals, thanks to the reviews on Tripadvisor. It was so nice to sit outside for lunch. And the staff was really friendly and helpful. Definitely a love from us!

As you will see the reviews of the Vine Leaf are excellent which is so deserved but rather than repeat what everyone has said I would like to comment more on the lovely couple who run it. It was so good to see a kind young lady look after all her customers in such a pleasant manner. An elderly lady who was struggling a little was treated like a dear friend even though she only had a cup of tea. It was so warming to see that some people are still so kind and caring.
And so to the food, everything was freshly made and to a very high standard, the quality of the bacon was excellent and the home cooked and hand carved ham was delicious.
We will be back.

We stumbled across the Vine Leaf whilst visiting Stow on the Wold - and thank God we did! Lindsey was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for her, and her husband, John, produced excellent quality food. This is definitely a place that must be visited when in the area - it is very simple in decor, but don't let that fool you - it's food, service and ambience is 5* plus but without the 5* price tag! I wish both Lindsey and John every success for their future - they thoroughly deserve it!
