Great spot to sit and enjoy a pint. In a world of upmarket wine-bars this is old world at its best. Happy to recommend to anyone.

Bangers & mash=great; fish & chips=a little greasy. Very charming atmosphere. Had a very late lunch there after Lions Tour from Bath and then checking into Stow Lodge.

We've visited the Queen's Head on several occasions. On our last visit, a wet Tuesday evening, the Queen's was packed with with a mix of locals and tourists, when every where else in Stow was less than half full. Make no mistake, this is no plastic gastropub. The locals give the place a friendly buzz, the ales are local and the food is based on high quality ingredients simply cooked to a constently high standard at a very reasonable price.

A proper town drinking pub, but with decent food available. Good chatty atmosphere, cosy interior, well-kept ales. On a long weekend visit to the area we dropped in for a pre-dinner pint one evening and went back again for lunch the next day.

It was so nice to walk into an oldy worldy pub that had retained it's independence and historic decor. Dogs and children allowed. Food is fresh and locally sourced; very reasonable prices too. Beer kept better than most. Went back twice in the weekend. Not a big place but has a big heart and a hearty welcome. No feeding Juggles though; the poor labrador is on another diet!
