“Great atmosphere, nice locals, good food...”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

As the title says, it has it well in hand. We enjoyed our meals there (twice on both trips to Stow), and both times had struck up nice conversation with the friendly locals. The food was actually quite good, and simple - nothing fancy. Will definitely return for at least a pint if not more.

“Best pub in Stow”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

If you are looking for a proper local pub in Stow, then this is it. It was the first pub we visited in Stow. Full of locals, lots of dogs, and great atmosphere. We visited 4 other pubs and came back to The Queens Head, which we visited for the next 3 days/nights.

Service was very friendly and genuine. It is an owner operated pub, so really friendly and warm. The locals at the bar were very welcoming.

We ate here a few times, and each time did not disappoint. Had Sunday Roast. The beef was full of flavour, and soft. The chicken also was very good. Service was good. Make a reservation if you want a table over the weekends. Most of the diners were locals or regulars.

There are two Local Ales, and I stuck with the BB. Full of flavour, and aroma. Enjoyed every pint I had.

I can't wait to go back to Stow and to my "new local".

“Good evening all round.”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Ate here whilst away for a weeks break, nice atmosphere, good fire, and friendly staff, i had steak and kidney suet pudding with red cabbage, peas and carrots in a nice rich gravy which ticked all the boxes, my wife had haddock and chips ( could have been a whale the size of it) with mushy peas and salad which tasted really fresh as i had to taste it myself.
In the corner were two guys drinking beer and playing chess, this shows what a real country pub is like, laid back and very friendly, we will return.

“Beer so so, food good, atmosphere great”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

Visited for lunch and it was packed. The beer is from the local brewery and was disappointing. The food was standard pub grub, but of a good standard and well presented. The pub itself is charming, friendly, and a very nice place to be. Recommended.

Reviewed November 6, 2012

The food was excellent, reasonably priced with good service. Old fashioned traditional pub, which had character.
