The perfect setting. While the town of Stow-on-the Wold in the cotswolds takes you back in time, our Headword cottage provided all the conveniences of home. Kitchen was large, modern and fully equipped. Complete with a welcome bottle of wine, cookies and milk in the fridge! First time we've ever had that in a rental. Though a small snafu with keys, the housekeeper quickly got it sorted out. Not only was everything as advertised, but better--including the beautiful outdoor garden/patio. Perfect! And we couldn't ask for a better owner who went above and beyond to help us figure out some transportation challenges. One thing to note, however, UK bed sizes are different from U.S. So while the mattress size indicates King, it's comparable in our opinion to a U.S. queen. Same goes for the Queen bed--closer to U.S. double size. But not worries--we still want to return.

“Beautiful cottage located close to central Stow”
Reviewed September 10, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This cottage is ideally located being situated within ten minutes walk of the Market square in Stow on the Wold. This was especially welcome as my parents cannot walk too far, but were easily able to walk into town to drink coffee or have lunch.

The three double bedrooms all located on the first floor are roomy with sufficient built in wardrobe space for most families.
The living space and kitchen are roomy and furnished to a high standard.

Stow on the Wold is ideally located for day trips within the Cotswolds and further if necessary. ie Worcester, the Malverns or Warwick are within an easy drive.
There is much to do within this area and the attractions cater for most tastes.

“Perfect getaway in the Cotswolds.”
Reviewed August 16, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Attention to detail is paramount at Headford Cottage. The owners have thought of everything from Netflix on the TV through to travel guides, premium bed lined, and a detailed guest manual. Nothing has been forgotten. The house was spotless with fresh towels laid out on the bed, and a lovely welcome pack on the kitchen table. The location is perfect with the centre of town no more than a few mins walk; the supermarket a further 5 mins by foot. There is parking for two cars at the front of the property, and a lovely contained garden at the back. Would highly recommend.

“Delightful, clean & comfortable”
Reviewed June 29, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My husband and I stayed at the Headford Cottage for a week. We appreciated that the Cottage is extremely clean and that the owners have taken great care to provide all the conveniences that make traveling easy. We were greeted with a tin of biscuits, bottle of milk, and bottle of wine, toothpaste, soap, etc., all of which we appreciated after a long transatlantic flight. The Cottage is the end unit at the end of a quiet street. The backyard abuts a farmed plot of land, which makes the Cottage even more quiet and private. We slept with the windows open at night and were never disturbed by any noise. The Cottage is within walking distance (5 minutes) of the village (Stow on the Wold), which has restaurants, a food store, morning newspapers and bakeries -- all very charming. I don't know how old the Cottage is, but the inside appears to be new, with a totally modern kitchen and bathrooms, and a large-screen TV with cable. The kitchen has everything a cook needs and is a good size with plenty of counter space, a large refrigerator, dishwasher and clothes washing machine. The living room/dining room are combined, and although neither is large they are both comfortable and big enough for a vacation property. All 3 bedrooms are on the second floor. As the name "cottage" implies, the bedrooms are small but serviceable. All 3 bathrooms (2 with showers and one with only a sink and toilet) are new and nicely appointed, although none of them is large. The Cottage has a small, very nice, private yard with a patio and patio furniture. All in all, it's a delightful, very clean, modern and quiet Cottage to return to at the end of a long day of sightseeing.

“Lovely Cottage, Fabulous location.”
Reviewed June 15, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Really enjoyed our stay at Headford Cottage. A real 'home from home' feel with lovely furnishings and everything provided to make your stay as comfortable as possible. However it was the location that we found superb as it was a very short walk into Stow. Great for shopping and going out for a meal in the evening without taking the car. Even my elderly parents found the walk into town easy and with so many great places to eat or have coffee and lots of shops to browse in you can take your time without watching the clock for parking. Stow is also a great base for visiting all the other Cotswold villages too.Highly recommended !

“Cosy cottage in perfect location”

We had had a fantastic, relaxing break at Headford Cottage. It's in a great quiet location and so close to the shops/pubs/town. The cottage is so homely and comfortable, very clean and the fittings/furnishings are of a high standard. It's great that there is private parking and Sky TV and Netflix an added bonus! We stayed as a family, but the 3 double rooms and 2 bathrooms could suit 3 couples. Thank you for letting us stay!
