“Wonderful cosy home from home”
Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

What a gem and a total treat ! When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Iris , who cannot do enough for you. We had a wonderful room, clean and cosy with fresh flowers , great shower too. Breakfast is totally organic and was of very high standard indeed. This lovely place has lots of books, both in the lounge and in the rooms. If you are looking to stay in beautiful Painswick , stay at st Anne's and you can't go far wrong , highly recommended . V Bolt .

We stayed here for two nights when visiting relatives in the area. Comfortable, cosy b&b with very welcoming hosts. Great breakfasts to set you up for the day, including home made bread and locally sources bacon, sausages etc

Our welcome was the best part of our one-night stay - log fire, tea and toasted tea cakes. But our room was very, very small with no hanging space, and the bathroom was also tiny. The breakfast selection was rather limited, but all organic. St. Anne's is very convenient for the town centre.

We have a yearly trip to somewhere in the Cotswolds, and the B and B here at St Anne's was our best experience yet. The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable, our welcome was very warm, and our stay was extremely relaxed. The "welcoming log fire" for once lived up to its description, and everything walkers could need seems to have been catered for. Iris kindly collected us after one day's walking, and the traffic at teatime is truly awful. We requested only porridge for breakfast by arrangement, but also enjoyed croisants, and home made apple juice.Bonus. I have no comment on the plumbing, but a minor hiccup on Margaret's behalf was quickly corrected. Very accommodating hosts.

We arrived slightly early for check in at 4pm but were graciously shown to our room. A lovely twin room overlooking the front of the property. No problem with road noise as the town falls quiet at sunset. A good size bathroom in this room. Breakfast was fantastic and was at a shared table with other guests. A very good walker friendly B&B with storage for boots and wet weather gear. Recommended to all hikers.

We had the bedroom with the four poster bed and the most noticeable thing is the very small shower room and toilet concealed in what appears to be a wardrobe. We found this hilarious, but people of greater girth than us or more sophisticated expectations might be a little disappointed. However, unlike Narnia you don't have to go right through it to get there, and it is much easier to come back. This room faces the rear and is very quiet.
The B & B is right on the Cotswold Way so is ideal for walkers as well as those who want something slightly unusual. There is a good lobby in which to de-boot and to leave wet items. Iris and Greg have relaxed attitude to the comings and goings of guests, and seemed also quite relaxed about breakfast times. They are very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast is taken at a communal table and we enjoyed the company of couples from Norway and Switzerland. There is plenty of homemade organic produce to eat; porridge, cereals, bread, croissants, full fry and variations, fruit juice and tea & coffee.
Parking, if you have a car, is on the opposite side of the one-way street, slightly up from the house, but there is a good public bus service through the town so there is no need to drive if you can avoid it. The Falcon Inn just round the corner is a great place to eat in, and there are other places within walking distance too.
Highly recommended.
