“Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014 via mobile

This is a beautiful place, with views stretching for miles on a clear day. I like going up to the trig point which has an information plaque on he very top giving distances to well known local destinations and attractions.

Be wary of the golfers though! Some of them don't quite hit a straight ball!!

“Beautiful peaceful location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014

Its nice to get out and you do not need anything to attract you apart from natural beauty. Stunning views, lovely and quiet in the day and Painswick so close with all its beauty

“All round view (with a golf course)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

It's a gentle stroll to the top with clear views across to the Severn Estuary
Not that fond of walking through golf courses, but no wayward balls when I did it

“Historic Stunning View”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2014

This is a “must do” walk if you have good weather in Painswick. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny day in April, with clear views to the Black Mountains in Wales, Gloucester cathedral and the quaint Cotswolds towns of Sheepscombe and Cranham. We did cheat and drove up to the car park just below the Beacon, but then walked through the golfcourse (fortunately there weren’t too many golfers), past Pope's Wood and down to the Royal William pub, which has a small garden and good food.

“Garden Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014

Painswick Rococo Gardens are 6 acres of 18th century restored gardens with follies, vistas, nature trails, woodland, kitchen gardens, ponds and pools and a fascinating maze.
The large house on the site is privately owned but the gardens are open to the public and well worth exploring. Very little of the site is accessible to persons with physical disabilities due to different slopes, levels and path structures which are part of the charm and original design of these gardens.
There is good amounts of car parking and a quaint gift shop and excellent tea rooms on site which offer freshly cooked and tasty snacks and simple meals. Heartily recommend the jumbo cheese scones.
We had a very enjoyable unhurried visiting all the different gardens, admiring the views and exploring the maze.
The snow drops were over but many other spring flowers, shrubs and trees were decorating the landscape.
