“Outstanding views”

Very close to the Cotswold Way and relatively close to nearby parking, the summit is a worth while destination for long-distance walkers or strollers alike. We could see for at least 80km into Wales and as far as North Somerset or Devon.

“Is this the "top of the world"?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2013

A wonderful place to get a good uphill walk. The payoff is the fantastic view from the top of the Beacon, a wonderful place to sit and meditate. My husband grew up here and he was regularly walked up to the top of the Beacon where he would always ask, 'is this the top of the world?' The all round views really do make you feel like it could be!

The vista is stunning and it is well worth the gentle climb.

“Superb Views”

Love visiting the Beacon. Stunning views all around and the walk to the top isn't taxing at all if you park up at the nearby carpark (we have both walked from the carpark and also from Painswick village in the past).

“A special place”

A lovely place to walk. Good views to Gloucester and the River Severn. Park in Painswick and follow the Cotswold Way trail markers north and you get to the Painswick Beacon in about 30 minutes.
