Fantastic pub we found at the end of our walk along the Cotswold Way and just opposite the bus stop to Stroud. The Ploughman's lunches were delicious, the real ale was great, service highly attentive and friendly at both bar and table, and decor very tastefully done. Solid, traditional, relaxing yet modern.

If you are visiting Painswick , a visit to the Falcon inn is an absolute must. It is beautifully situated opposite the church which is a plus in itself, due to the famous hedges. What we loved about the Falcon inn is the beautiful relaxing decor, all muted colours and vases of lilies. The staff are very friendly and professional and the food is second to none. The roast lamb was perfect and we would highly recommend it. If you just want a drink you can relax in lovely surroundings. A totally essential place to visit. V Bolt .

My Son and I walked in early one Evening in December. A couple of people were at each of the Bars and a couple of people floating around (Staff?). Though people looked at us no one smiled or said hello. We found a table to sit at in the cosy Bar room to the right of the entrance and sat down. We had viewed the menu, I think I had picked one up and taken back to our table. The person behind the bar never once acknowledged us or asked if they could help us, no service was displayed what so ever! After sitting for five to ten minutes we decided to take our business somewhere else and left!

A few years ago the Falcon was like a mausoleum, but now it's a struggle to get a table. With good beer, decent food and a good atmosphere that should be no great surprise.

Great warming cosy pub with lovely dining area. Decor is really lovely. They have live music at the end of each month which is always great. It's our local so we are there frequently. Recommend it to visitors to the area or locals. We've had food a few times and it's been very pleasant but it's the bar (good selection of drinks) and atmosphere that we like the best.
