“Comfy rooms, great food, attentive service.”
Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

This hotel has character and is centrally located in Moreton in Marsh. I stayed in the Garden room which was spectacular with a big private garden. Bathroom had bath and step in shower which was great. Mum stayed in the room for disabled guests which has a level access shower/ wet room. Staff provided a shower chair. There were grab rails by the WC but none near the shower which is a shame. The room was comfortable but a little on the dark side and suffered a little from road noise. But all in all good to k ow that facility is there. Staff were helpful in assisting Mum over tricky cobbles in the hall and even provided a small mat by the door to ease rollator wheels. Food in restaurant could not be faulted and I enjoyed the lambiest lamb I have tasted in a long while ( lamb two ways). Restaurant staff were efficient, kind and friendly. Sadly there was no disabled parking space which is needed especially as there are only a few parking spaces and the road outside is busy. The manager did sag he would in future reserve a space if requested. This hotel is recommended.

I picked this hotel as a centre to tour Gloucestershire and Worcestershire with a dear American friend and her Mom who on visiting Europe, needed to take in some good old English culture and hospitality. They were "blown away" by the hotel and it's heritage not to mention the tour next day which took on "British Camp" the Iron Age fort on the Malvern Hills and Sudeley Castle, home to Catherine Parr.
The hotel even has Charles 1st's death certificate in the hallway! Everyone from the Receptionist to the Waiter in the restaurant was so pleasant and eager to help.
For Dinner, I had the Oriental Chicken to start, followed by the PorkTenderloin and a prettyt cheeky Pinot Grigio Fantinel. My friends had the Mixed Veg Strudel and Steak Pie with Sticky Toffee Pudding and Creme Brulee - nothing left and hardly anything for breakfast as we were so stuffed!

Room Tip: If you are on your own as I was, don't ask for a single. Ask for a double (single occupancy) My...

We stayed at the end of September for 2 nights to celebrate my 30th birthday. My boyfriends parents had upgraded the room without us knowing, to the Garden Four Poster. The room was fantastic, very spacious, lovely four poster bed and patio doors opening onto our own private patio. The room contained everything you could want. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was lovely. We did enquire about eating in the Snug one night and we were told that its the same menu and same price as the restaurant but you have to go to the bar to order your food rather than a waiter/waitress coming to take your order. There was a good selection at breakfast. Moreton In The Marsh is a lovely town although very busy. Its location is perfect as there is so much to do in that area. We didn't get to see and do everything we wanted to, so we will definately return.

This was our favorite hotel on our trip to England. We had a big room facing the street with comfy beds and a lot of pillows, which I loved! Windows were open, and street was a bit noisy, but it was worth it. Moreton-in-Marsh is a quaint little town and the hotel is located in the middle of everything and close to the train station. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good. Hotel was clean, had great history and atmosphere and the staff was helpful. Location was great! Have recommended it to friends.

Room Tip: We got the American Twin room, which is like 2 double beds. Paid a bit more, but it was such a great...

Stayed here for 2 nights in the King Charles Suite on the Jubilee weekend. Going again soon, very relaxing atmosphere. Lovely village and handy for days out, was in Straford Upon Avon within the hour. Didn't eat in the restaurant but did have lunch in the Snug (I think its called that) great wine list and serivce was very attentive. Check out the Manor House Hotel 5 mins up the road for dinner - outstanding!

Being sensitive to noise i was so glad that a room was available at the back, it wasn't a problem to change.
A good location for shops, parking, and onward journey. The hotel is clean, friendly, and the food was great, nothing else to ask for . . . . .

Room Tip: its on a busy A road to oxford, so room at the back may be preferred
