“Perfect blend of the old and the new”
Reviewed July 15, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Three of us friends (a couple and me) were in Moreton in Marsh for a wedding that was held across the street at the Manor House, so this was a convenient location. Even with the owner's excellent instructions on how to use the key box to get into the cottage, we did not realize that the key box actually contained the key, we kept thinking we'd tap in the numbers and the door would unlock! DUH!! We spent 20 minutes figuring it out, and once we did, we felt VERY stupid--but we had never seen such a thing before. As Americans, we loved staying in an old, old row house (not what we would consider a "cottage"), with stone floors, wood beams, and a massive fireplace. The living room, modern kitchen and a modern bathroom with a big shower (off the kitchen), were on the main floor. Up the stairs were two very small bedrooms (not an issue for those of us who pack light, but for those who don't. . . !!), then up another flight to a charming 1/2 bath in the attic. Off the kitchen, also, was a small patio that we enjoyed. Super location, we walked everywhere to pubs, restaurants, and shops. The kitchen included a combination washer-dryer, and when we inadvertently damaged it when we attempted to open the door before it was done drying, the owner quickly had it repaired and did not charge us. Whew! We loved how the structure of the building was exposed (purposely!) in several places--fascinating! We would have loved it if the owner had a sheet of paper explaining the history of the house. The Brits take "old" for granted, but we Americans are fascinated by the history of buildings and would have liked to know how old it was. There was a good DVD collection, though we had no time to view them, some books and travel info next to the fireplace, too. Moreton-in-Marsh is a super town, with easy access from/to Paddington Station. In addition to enjoying the village, we all loved walking on the public footpath to the Batsford Arboretum, and we also enjoyed Hidcote Gardens and The Secret Cottage Tour. And the wedding was gorgeous and happy, too!!

“lovely cottage in an excellent location.”

Very comfortable cottage that my sister and I have visited twice, and hopefully will do so again. Welcome package left which was much appreciated. Although right on the high street had no trouble parking outside and was still peaceful.

“Wonderful cottage, great location"”
Reviewed July 13, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Had a really nice stay at the High Street Cottage. Wonderfully located and very comfortable, more than enough room for the four of us. Near everything we needed in town and very cute. Would definitely recommend!

“IDILIC COTTAGE”
Reviewed February 16, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Everything you would expect from a Cotswold cottage and more! Location was faultless, being right in the town center with excellent restaurants and log fired, welcoming, pet friendly. pubs.
Loved the cottage so much we are returning with friends this weekend. The open log fire and beamed features are one of the many warming attractions to this homely yet modern cottage.
The minute we walked through the door we knew our stay was going to be an enjoyable one and was not disappointed.

“Needs some TLC and refreshing”

The location is excellent. The outside is classic Cotswold. The fireplace is really nice but overall it lets itself down.
Positives:
- great location
- lovely fire
- nice shower
- good oven

Negatives:
- the furniture in the living room looks and feels tired
- there are bare pipes in the kitchen that should be boxed in
- the wall between the two bedrooms is very thin, there is no soundproofing

The other surprise was that there was no 'book' that we have always had before that explains things like emergency numbers, wifi code etc.

“Lovely cottage,close to all amenities”
Reviewed November 8, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Lovely cottage, well cared for and very comfortable , right on the main street of Moreton, with easy parking outside on main street. Kitchen has all you require to cook to your hearts delight, including a small dishwasher; also has a washing machine for those days when you have been out walking and come home a bit wet. ! Super shower room downstairs. Comfortable bedrooms, linen and towels all provided. Large lounge and log fire ,all you could wish for in a Cotswold cottage . Just two suggestions for the very pleasant owners, could they put in a slightly smaller tv, found the large one a bit overpowering and a DVD player for those boring guests who like to stay in on dark winter nights. A lovely place to stay, I am happy to recommend it as a warm and comfy cottage.

“Amazing! Everything you could wish for and more.”

This cottage was absolutely perfect and in a very central location. It's been renovated to a very high standard and has amazing facilities. The shower room was a particular favourite of mine and it's given me ideas for my own house. I will definitely be returning to this great cottage.
