“A perfect cosy get away cottage for exploring the Cotswolds”
Reviewed November 25, 2012 for a stay in November 2012

This is our second visit to this beautiful cosy cottage and we were not disappointed. Parking was easy, directly outside the cottage and we walked in from a chilly November day to a cosy cottage with a fire all laid, just waiting to be lit with a full basket of logs. The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable with everything you need for your stay and for exploring the Cotswold with lots of maps of the area. A perfect retreat for a weekend get away as it was in our case but would also be ideal if you wanted to stay longer. There are lots of local pubs but tired from our journey we opted for the fish and chips from the local chippy which were wonderful and then on the Saturday evening ate at the hotel opposite, The Manor House and had a superb meal and would highly recommend that as well.
A previous comment was no wifi available but I managed to hook onto the wifi available at the hotel for their guests without any problems.
Am already looking for another excuse to visit the Cotswolds again and stay at The Cottage.

“best location for exploring the Cotswolds”
Reviewed November 1, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

This cottage was perfect for our two week trip exploring the Cotswolds. Good train and bus connections in this market town and many roads leading to interesting places. The cottage was very comfortable. The living room was spacious with comfortable seating and a large wood burning fireplace. We found the kitchen very well equipped and cooked most nights after shopping locally. The cottage is right on the high street and I thought there might be road noise but never found this to be a problem.

“Charming cottage”
Reviewed October 3, 2012 for a stay in September 2012

Very charming cottage in a good location for touring the Cotswolds. Nice kitchen and fireplace. The bath and a half was very nice. The owner did leave a bottle of wine for us which was very nice. The things I felt could be improved upon are: needs wi-fi, linens need to be upgraded(one thin towel, and flat pillow). Beds were a little uncomfortable. Could feel the springs every time I turned over. A little firewood for fireplace should also be supplied. We had to buy it. I would recommend the cottage if some simple upgrades were made.

Management Response
Nov 17, 2012
Thank you for your visit and review, would just like to confirm that a BTOpenzone is available to anyone who has an account or who wishes to pay for internet access.
The beds in the property are new and were selected to suit average visitors, not too firm and not too soft, and it is a shame you found them uncomfortable for your stay.

“Very cosy and authentic historical cottage”
Reviewed May 8, 2012 for a stay in January 2012

Wonderful 17th century cottage in the heart of the Cotswolds. Amazing original fireplace which was so good we slept in front of it every night and didn't even use the bedrooms.
Reasonably priced. The shower looks better than it does in the photos. My wife, who loves baths nearly passed on the cottage because of it. I'm really glad we decided to stay.
Would recommend it to anyone.

“Delightful cosy period cottage”
Reviewed May 8, 2012 for a stay in December 2011

Cottage was beautifully decorated for our Christmas stay. Location is in a delightfu Cotswold village. Local pubs and restaurants were very welcoming to us and our two dogs, which was very much appreciated.
