We have previously stayed at the Manor House (2016) and The Broadway (2017) and we were disappointed to note a distinct slip in standards last Sunday night. I have mailed the Manor House twice and although my mail has been forwarded by reception to management, as I write I have received no response.
Our room was no. 23 - up in the attic. From there we overlooked the main thoroughfare. The window was open and a fan on when we arrived but later, with the window shut, it was obvious someone had previously been smoking in the room (cigars). We had to keep the window open and suffer the traffic noise (Moreton is a busy town).
In the evening we ate at The Rose Tree in Bourton-On-The-Water and returned to the hotel at about 10.30. The back doors (from the car park) were locked. Fortunately we managed to attract the attention of the receptionist - otherwise it’s quite a long walk around the front of the hotel. To our dismay the bar was shut. I had hoped for a nightcap as had been designated driver.
Breakfast in the morning was a strange affair. The buffet was minimal and pastries and fresh fruit had to be ordered from the menu. We had cooked breakfasts which were very tasty but brown sauce was served by a waitress. We couldn’t help feel there was an austerity drive in place. We have stayed at budget hotels where the buffet was better.
I would not have posted this review if the management had been courteous enough to respond to my email. I think this speaks volumes about our experience.

The location is excellent! Found this hotel lacking. Nice room, double sinks in the bathroom but only one usable - taps didn’t work and the ones that did squealed. When we mentioned it to the front desk, they advised that nothing could be done as it is an old building. Why would two sinks be installed if it wasn’t expected to work properly. Peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. Broken shower door supplemented with a shower curtain. Very strange. Dirty glasses were not removed after the maid service so we resorted to leaving them in the hallway.

Front desk staff not helpful when asked about the area and surrounding locations. Better off to google yourself than to try and get help from them. Came back to warm up on a wet and cool day, no signal on the tv. Very noisy rooms. Could hear nearly every movement from the room above us. We have stayed in other hotels that were just as old if not older and had none of these issues. Last night in the room, the pipes were squealing for about ten minutes at a time throughout the night. Made for a very poor sleep.

First dinner in the Brassiere was not pleasant. Had a large table with very loud, inebriated and disruptive diners. They were not guests of the hotel, but the staff seemed oblivious to the fact that all the other diners were unable to enjoy dinner and conversation because of these rude people. Food was just okay. Breakfast was terrible. Cold toast, hard pastries, had to chase down juice. Service seems to be very erratic. Have no real interest in eating there for the rest of our stay (4 nights in total). Bar service was great with Dan serving us. The other servers were not great.

This was our second week of five weeks in GB. We have had much more pleasant experiences in other locations before this one. For the cost of £210 per night (4 nights) we would have expected more and feel that it was WAY overpriced for the quality received.

Room tip: Don’t stay here.

On arriving quite early to meet friends here for lunch, we ordered tomato juice but sadly they had no Worcestershire sauce which for a hotel of this size with a restaurant, brasserie, bar and lounge areas, is unbelievable! Suggested the High Street is full of shops, maybe they could pop out for a bottle, but alas neither arrived. Service in the bar is painfully slow - even after an excellent lunch, we had to remind staff we were waiting for tea to be served despite a still almost empty bar!
The lunch however did not let us down, roast beef was excellent, roast chicken, albeit small, served with champ and kale was sufficient but would not satisfy a large appetite. The deconstructed Eton Mess was a disappointment, but the vanilla ice cream may well have been home made according to the speckles of real vanilla, tasted excellent. The service in the restaurant was very good, no complaints at all.
The only reason I have scored average is due to the fact that the service in the bar was so slow, at one point there was no one manning the bar at all, not surprised the bar is empty on a Sunday afternoon, if there is no one serving. I would expect a hotel in a busy High Street to be packed on a Sunday afternoon, sadly lacking atmosphere.
Would loved to have enjoyed tea in the garden but sadly it had rained and all the furniture was wet, but the gardens are beautiful and comfortable outdoor furniture too.

Stayed here with friends and family and had a thoroughly good time . Chose this hotel by location & reviews as many in the area at similar prices had a few indifferent reviews. The bar was lively and reasonably priced & breakfast was excellent. Nice gardens, parking on site & centrally located to explore the town. Some rooms are quite a bit smaller than others although most have a certain charm & the beds were very comfortable.
