We love Lower Mill Estate and have stayed there four times and keep coming back for more. This stay was no different - Wild Briar is an absolute gem of a place to stay. We were staying with children, parents and grandparents and it was spacious enough to keep us all happy, but it also has a welcoming cosy feel with fantastic views over the lake. It is well placed for the facilities, being reasonably close to the Spa,playground and shop
The kids aged 5 to 11 had a wonderful time - walking, cycling, swimming in the spa. trampolining and playing in the play areas. It was possible to play tennis but we missed out on booking a court by being too slow to sign up for a court (it was Easter so was really busy on the tennis courts). There are brilliant walks from the door all around the estate with great potential for nature spotting - I did come across one lady having a tour with a ranger which looked very interesting.
The beds were really comfy and it was very peaceful at night. There was plenty of hot water even with a full house.
The kitchen was well laid out and well equipped and we took it in turns to cook from our shopping that we had arranged to be delivered by Waitrose, shortly after we arrived.
The shop on-site is fantastic for forgotten items and had really good coffee and croissants. There is also a cafe there now which is new to us - the menu looked great - we will be sampling their fare next time..... As it was Easter, there was also an Easter egg hunt that was arranged via the shop which the kids thought was wonderful.
We had a great weekend and didn't leave Lower Mill for the whole 3 days - there was plenty to keep us occupied there and it is lovely place to spend time chilling out and catching up.
