A mixed gender bunch of us middle aged chums arranged to meet up in this pub for a drink last night (Saturday). It's a large, open plan, rustic - perhaps too minimalistic - but agreeable venue.
The service wasn't the best and the bar was mainly staffed by a number of young (inexperienced) girls who occasionally found it more important to chat with each other or just daydream rather than look for customers to serve. The beer and wine were very good however - BUT - very, very, very, expensive - ranging between £12.00 and £16.00 for three drinks.
There weren't many people eating and it's clearly a weekend watering hole for groups of young people flitting from one bar to another so it had a few waves of really busy periods throughout the course of the evening until closing time about 12:30.
Would I go back, probably not - it seems to be geared up for the under 40's with its open plan look and is clearly geared up to maximise the floor area to get as many customers in as possible, although there are number of long tables and benches to sit on too.
