I last dined here a year ago but whilst back in Cirencester wanted to try it again. Great selection of ales and the thai food was exceptional.
Steamed sea bass with chilli sauce (can be ordered without it) and noodles was very impressive. Tears on my cheeks from the sauce but I could still taste the delicate flavour of the sea bass.

Often the only beer choice in Thai restaurants is lager-style fizz, which is ok for some but my friends and I prefer real ale, so it's great to get the benefit of wonderfully cooked Thai food with a selection of local cask ales available.

The starters were varied and all exceptional (the salt and chilli pepper squid and tom yam gong soup especially recommended). The mains were all good, although I would have preferred a bit more heat in my green curry.

Staff very friendly with the right level of attentiveness (there when you need them, not in your face when you are having a conversation).

Can't comment on dessert as we were all too full! Would definitely visit again and would recommend.

The Waggon & Horses is a pub on the edge of the town centre of Cirencester. Set at a busy junction, you could be forgiven for passing it by. Except by your taste buds. Walk in and you are greeted by a row of hand pumps classified according to the type of beer they offer: light and hoppy, malty, IPA and sweet, dark stout. When we visited, there was a session beer, 3.2%, from he Severn Brewery, helpfully called Session. Light in alcohol it may be but it was fresh and full of flavour, a bitter drinker's dream.

But that is just the beginning of the pleasure, because this pub serves Thai food, cooked to order,
of a quality and range that you would only hope for in a good Thai restaurant. Their tempura batter is heavenly, their steamed sea bass is a fragrant joy. And all at reasonable prices.

Is that all? No, how about being served by staff who know their job and are welcoming and keen to make your visit a pleasure. How about walking into a strange pub and feeling immediately at ease?

This pub is a great tribute to all of its people. I hope it thrives. I hope you will go there.

Oh, and they also do takeaways.

Have eaten here twice - once in the restaurant (had a set Thai menu) and once in the bar (Had Pad Thai). On both occasions the food was superb. Well priced, good staff and nice pub to eat in. Will certainly return.
