“Best Italian in Town - By far!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

Being Italian, I strongly recommend Gianni's to anyone who wishes a proper taste of Italy.

Gianni's is a genuine Italian restaurant. The owners and all the waiters are Italian, and the food is so great that it even reminds me of home (a massive compliment)! The service is professional yet warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely and cosy (it does get busy!). The prices are fair, and they always have new specials on the board!

Make sure you book, to avoid disappointment!

Their lunch time menu is incredible, where you get a generous plate of pasta and a salad or garlic bread for 5.95!!!

Also, they recently opened a café in Wynchcombe street which serves the best espressos and delicious cakes and sweets made fresh every day!!

Grazie Gianni!

“Good but pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2012

I visited here one very busy Friday evening with my husband.
We enjoyed the soup & bruschetta for starters. Hubby wasn't impressed with the soup but my starter was lovely. Both opted for steaks for the main course which were very good. The food I could see being served to adjacent tables also looked good.
Service was slow but then the restaurant was full, and when the staff served us they were friendly enough.
Overall we both enjoyed our meal and would return.

“Average quality Italian. Sells itself as authentic but doesn't quite meet expectations.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012 via mobile

Dined here on a Saturday night. Busy, bustling restaurant.
Decor not great, but ambience ok. Table for 2 was very small and a bit wonky.
Food was in 2 parts on the quality side.
The starter of tomato and mozzarella wasn't great. Tomatoes had no flavour and looked like the salad ones from a supermarket. Certainly didn't look or taste authentic. The cold meat selection was ok but not fantastic.
The main courses were much better. Both our steak dishes were good and very enjoyable.
Price wise it was about average for this type of restaurant.
So overall not bad but could be better.

“Always wonderful!”

Love the atmosphere - great service and to eat gluten free pasta that tastes great is amazing! They are always willing to accommodate my gluten-free, meat-free diet.... will keep recommending and keep going back! Have been here with large parties and romantic duos and always leave very happy. Great place, highly recommend for classic and traditional Italian dishes.
