Even though we popped in for a pre booked lunch to find out our first visit was indeed the ladies lunch day special on this first tuesday of each month .... But although we were early we went to the upper half circle ( former cinema ) for a small drink when we had lunch it was a fab treat to enjoy a tad on the expence side but still a very nice place with excellent service ... Well done we shall be back

We have eaten at The Daffodil three times now and each time has been very dissapointing. Usually the service is poor especially if they are busy such as Christmas time, but the last visit was the final straw. They forgot to cook or bring french fries with one of the steak meals. When prompted they apologised and said they would rush them through. By the time 4 of us had eaten the rest of our meals the french fries had still not arrived. They said that they would take them off the bill ! Very gracious of them! When I challenged them and requested that they took one of the steak meals off the bill as it was only a part of what was orderd and eating a steak on its own is not much fun, the waiter had to check with the management. On his return he said that their policy was that the steak had to be paid for but they would not charge for the french fries, that they had not supplied. Arrogance is an understatement. I persisted further and the waiter informed me that he would pay for our deserts out of his own money! I have never heard of such behaviour in any restaurant before. They did in deed not charge for deserts so I tipped the waiter the cost of the deserts in case it really did come out of his pocket. The management here seem to be very arrogant, and after all the food is ok but not great. No restaurant cannot afford such arrogance least of all one that is serving run of the mill food with so much competition near by

Have visited on many occasions... lunch and evening times. Food is faultless, fresh, and beautifully presented by pleasant, formal, yet fun staff. The venue is a quite unspolt old cinema with flash grilling onstage where there was once a movie. Dining is on two levels as befits the stalls and circle. Cooking is sensitive and skilled. Can be quite pricey including drinks, but for special occasions no one could leave disappointed. Agree with a previous reviewer that finding parking can sometimes be somewhat difficult so leave in plenty of time to find space.

The venue is stunning & easy to find, but parking is all on road so it's difficult to find a space - prepare for a walk. On Monday nights & Sunday lunch times there is a live Jazz band which is really lovely & perfectly in keeping with the theme of the venue...
