“Birthday treat”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

Went here for a birthday meal in November and it really was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the selection of food was fabulous. It is small so you definitely need to book in advance.

“Fantastic dining experience!”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

We booked for our son's 21st Birthday celebration, and our experience was certainly memorable enough to mark the occasion. We decided on the new nine course taster menu, a choice we certainly did not regret as the evening progressed. Five savoury dishes were served, then four desserts.Nine courses sounds a lot , but the portion sizes are well judged and the service appropriately spaced. All the dishes were interesting , beautifully presented and delicious.Intervals between courses were spent discussing how much we had enjoyed the last dish and anticipating what would come next. My own favourites were the lovely pollack with Chorizo crust, and their take on Tequila Slammer, an explosion of zingy flavours. We left as very happy diners and will certainly return. Thanks to all at Lumiere for a great evening.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We are so glad you enjoyed your meal with us. The tequila slammer is our favourite course too, and always so much fun when you are part of a bigger group too!

“A truely special venue”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

We went in September for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a real treat. Simply perfect food, cooked lovingly with an exciting array of flavours and textures - top class.
Great service too, really friendly and not stale at all like a lot of top class restaurants.
I'm sure a Michelin Star will be coming soon!

“A Michelin Star awaits!”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

A very good restaurant with a very good young chef, there's only one way for this establishment to go and it's not down!
Some very good dishes with little touches and cooking techniques that are pure 'Fat Duck'
A gripe for me is the use of slate to serve some of the dishes on. Slate is for tiling a roof, not for fine dining. White, fine china every time.
My guest has had the good fortune to eat in many of the best restaurants in the country, including The Fat Duck, and was very impressed with the food, but like me no fan of the slate.

Should probably receive a Michelin star in the near future, so visit while you can get a table.

“Lumiere is back and better than ever”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

If, like us, you gave up on Lumiere when it went downhill under its previous owners, then it's time to give it another try. The food is now far more subtle and enjoyable and the mildly deranged, over-Botoxed woman who did front of house under the previous regime has been replaced by a friendly team.
