Owner description: Cheltenham Town Hall was built in 1902-03 in order to provide a venue for the many balls and concerts which made up the town's social calendar at the turn of the twentieth century. Until the year 1900, that role had been filled by the old Assembly Rooms in the High Street, and it was their demolition to make way for a bank that prompted the Council to build a new, and much larger Hall on a new site. The Town Hall, situated on Imperial Gardens in the centre of Cheltenham comprises of a Grand Main Hall, distinguished by its Corinthian styles columns and coved ceiling.

“Fashion Show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

I, as a male of the species, was dragged along by a female of the species to a Fashion Show at Cheltenham Town Hall. It was the first time I had attended such an event and attended reluctantly but what a surprise - I had an enjoyable night out - not only were there attractive young ladies to watch walking the cat walk but it was great to see guys of all ages doing their thing.
I particularly enjoyed the James Bond section with the guys in their dinner jackets and also the Indian style dancers at the beginning. Very good, especially as all the models were local people raising money for the Mayor's Charity. The Town is an excellent venue right in the centre of Cheltenham.

“Lovely building”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Nice venue for concerts. The staff are friendly and helpful but be careful when choosing your seats because some have limited vision. The architecture of the building is probably better than its acoustics.

“A pleasant building and helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We looked in to get directions etc and the staff were friendly and helpful. The building itself has great architectural merit and looks out on to an attractive square (The Promenade).

“Excellent venue for Ballroom dancing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

We attended the Cheltenham Ballroom Dance Festival at the town hall. It is a lovely building, has friendly staff and a great floor to dance on. On the dance evenings the staff on the bar could have been a little quicker to serve (plus the bar was a bit pricey).

“Beautiful architecture adjacent to the gardens”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Old town hall with beautiful architecture. Definitely worth a visit but I would say no more than 20-30 minutes. Whilst your here make sure you check out the gardens behind the town hall. There is nearby parking as well (pay and display) if you want to stop in the city center.
