I visited Daphne recently a couple of friends and I was extremely impressed. I was absolutely amazed by my first experience with Turkish food. The food was exquisite, you could taste that it was freshly prepared. The starters took about 15 minutes to come out from ordering, and the mains came out about 10 minutes after our plates were cleared. The starters were amazing (I had the Calamar) really delicious, perfectly cooked and the dipping sauce! You have to try it out for yourself. For my main I had the Daphne Style Incik. We were warned that that particular item takes longer to cook than the other items on the menu, which was highly impressive as many restaurants would either not bother informing you or use cheats to speed up the cooking time. But the food did not take too long at all.
Our waiter was an absolutely lovely man, knew the menu like the back of his hand, could talk you through any item on it and explain the flavours and make recommendations. He was attentive and looked after us through the entire meal. The chef came out afterwards to ask us how our meals were which is a lovely personal touch, it was a joy to be able to thank him personally.
I highly recommend everyone checks this restaurant out. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Cheltenham that more people should discover and enjoy.
