“Beautiful little B&B”

Very warm welcome. Tastefully decorated room (we had the four poster) Nothing was forgotten. Tv with dvd player, tea/coffee making facilities, mini fridge, everything you could think of down to cotton wool and ear buds were catered for. Only thing we could moan about but didn't mind was our room was close to the kitchen and could hear alot. So we was contious not to make too much noise. Would definatly stay again. Cheapest we found also.

We had the pleasure of staying with Sylvia & Sean at ROOFTREES for 4 nights in Sep/Oct 2011. A great B&B with lovely rooms, great breakfast, and lovely hosts!! Could recommend to anyone wanting a quiet lovely stay in the Cotswolds.

Only stayed for 1 night, which was a great shame. This b&b was idyllic. What a beautiful room. (we stayed in four poster, with ensuite). Gorgeous teddies and dolls everywhere. Breakfast was super, hosts very friendly, always ready for a chat. Lovely garden, lots of gnomes and places to sit out. About 15 min walk into gorgeous Bourton-on-the-water.
Loved it!!!!!

Room Tip: Book early!!

We will now use B&Bs instead of hotels as a result of a recent tour of stays in B&Bs - all but one have been great, including Rooftrees in Bourton-On-The-Water. S&S are doing a great job. Other reviews have commented on the decor - we thought it was great!. No problem at all. Some have commented that the rooms are smallish but that is because S&S have provided everything - who can complain about that! The place is surrounded by numerous good quality restaurants, tea rooms and brilliant pubs. In addition to Bourton itself the town provides a fantastic base to have a good explore and discover the many superb places that pepper the Cotswolds. So we thoroughly recommend Rooftrees as a guest house to stay in and we'll definitely be back as part of you next planned B&B tour!

We stayed here for 4 nights and booked Rooftrees based on TA reviews, location and price and we weren't disappointed. Our double room was upstairs and it had everything you could imagine i.e. mini fridge, kettle, hairdryer, plenty of mirrors, good storage, comfortable bed, two chairs, small side table, modern bathroom etc etc. Sylvia and Sean are excellent hosts who are friendly and knowledgable without being OTT. The B&B is a max 10 minute walk from the village centre and is located on the main road but we were surprised at how quiet it was (and we live in rural Ireland so are used to no noise at all at night). Breakfast is basic but freshly cooked and is adequate. Decor isn't to everyone's taste but you're staying in someone else's home so does that really matter? Rooftrees is very clean and comfortable and is an excellent base to explore the area. We were disappointed that the riverfront pubs in the village seemed to be part of large chains and so inside there was no character/traditional features but the outside beer gardens were lovely and as we were lucky with the weather we were able to sit outside each evening. We ate at the Old Manse Hotel and enjoyed fairly good but standard pub grub, we had a quick bite at the Chinese and that was OK but I wouldn't recommend it for a special meal as the service wasn't great and finally, we had dinner at one of the tea rooms that opens in the evening over the weekend (sorry can't remember what it was called) and to be honest that was also only average. All in all, we were very pleased we chose to stay at Rooftrees and B-on-the-W is an excellent base. We will definately stay at this B&B again and would recommend to family and friends.

Nice place at what seemed like a good rate for Bourton-on-the Water. Less than ten minutes stroll into the centre of the village so exceptionally close to the great restaurants, pubs, shops and attraction on offer.

Decor definitely won't be to everyone's taste - very frilly and quite old fashioned. Lots of pictures, decorations and dolls dotted about the place! There was also a fair amount of furniture crammed into the four poster bed room which all made it feel vageuly claustriphobic. Bathroom was quite big in comparison.

Sylvia is a great hostess - very personable and agree with other comments on here that it's like staying with a friendly aunty or grandmother. Have had better quality B&B breakfasts but it definitely did the job.

All in all, a cheap, quality and comfortable place to stay in a great location
