Owner description: Located in the picturesque village of Bourton on the Water, the Cotswold Motoring Museum is a fascinating journey through the 20th century that the whole family can enjoy. The Museum is bulging with great cars, quaint caravans, precarious looking motorcycles, enamel signs and an intriguing collection of motoring curiosities! Brum, the BBC TV's little super hero car whose adventures start and end at the museum can be found here every day.

This is tucked away in a corner of Bourton on the water. There are plenty of old cars of all eras. For children Brum is present and they can do a quiz as they walk round (lots of different ones). It's all in doors so great for when we have typical british weather!

Took a trip here whilst staying in the cotswolds.

In the middle of a little village, i think admission was around £9.00 for 2 adults, toddler was free.

Lots to see, more than i imagined. Quiz to follow for children which was good as kept toddler amused looking for certain pictures.

Lots of cars, motorbikes etc, and toys from years ago. Great to reminiss

Lots of glorious cars and bits of pieces from the same eras crammed into a small space. I thought I would be bored but whiled away a happy hour instead!

Took my kids, ages 7 and 4 to see the "home of Brum" this morning. They absolutely loved it. The museum is in a lovely village so very pleasant trip to get there. Once inside, there is a labyrinth of rooms which give it a tardis like feel and there is much more to see than you would imagine from the outside. There are many rooms, all crammed with memorabilia and a great many wonderful old and vintage vehicles. There was a wonderful smell of oil and wax and some fabulous examples of antique petrol pumps, toys and cars. Most of which were far more beautiful than what we have today. The highlight for the children was, of course, Brum. The only downside was that they were not allowed to touch him or climb inside. However, we managed a couple of photos and they were soon cheered up by the model which they could climb into in the play area. But they were not fooled. They both waned to re-visit the real one before we left to kiss him goodbye. The main reason I have given this lovely museum, so much bigger and better than we expected, is that there was almost nothing related to Brum available to buy in the shop. Admittedly this show was aired years ago and so the merchandise is not easily available - BUT - if they want to advertise themselves as the home of Brum and use this connection as a key attraction they really need to source some toys etc. for the shop to satisfy the kids once they have enticed them in. The BBC was still airing the show as recently as last year and they definately still supply Brum toys. It's a small thing but when you have excited kids who love Brum and come all this way to see him, they want a little souvenir and apart from an overpriced key ring there wasn't much on offer. Sure we'll be back though as was thoroughly enjoyable. Be warned though, in winter the museum feels cold, as most rooms are not heated.

Love the motor museum but wish it could be a bit more spread out. The blacksmith area that smelt of urine didn't really seem to have a place. The shop was a huge bottleneck too. The cars were worth it though.
