“Don't be put off by the name”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Don't, like me, be put off by the name of the place, it's actually a really good attraction in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water. There are some fabulous displays and the King Penguin tanks gives a really "up close" experience that you wont find in many places.
This is probably a couple of hour visit, rather than a day trip.

“The Penguins are Brilliant”
Reviewed January 22, 2013 via mobile

Visited here on a wet day whilst staying in Bourton. This place is on the edge of the town but a pleasant walk anyway.

We were not expecting too much but had some time to spare and were pleasantly surprised.

Birdland is a real gem. The park is really nicely laid out and landscaped. It feels airy and there is something to see at every turn. The visitor information is really informative and accessible. The caged areas are also well planned.

The real stars of the park were the penguins... You can get very close and the whole layout for their enclosure means that there are good views from all sides - including the pool. Absolutely superb.

A good place to spend two or three hours - even if the weather isn't great.

“Might be biased because I love penguins..”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Ahhh I didn't even care about all the other birds, the penguins alone are worth the visit, we got the see the feeding and the keeper was very informative, chatted about the penguins for about 45 minutes and was very humorous and entertaining with it. The penguins wear different colour bands so we can tell them apart with their names as visitors. Lovely visit! Never been so close to penguins before :)

“Absolutely amazing”
Reviewed January 5, 2013

No matter if you like birds or not, you have to visit this place. At the very least, to see penguins as close as you will ever get to them unless you join the BCC crew on yet another Frozen Planet set. Other birds were cool and probably used to seeing tourists, so quite friendly. Parrots were posing for pictures all the way. Definitely worth a visit.
