We stayed at the Dial House just after August bank holiday 2016 for two nights.
There initially was a mix up with room availability on the booking.com website, but give credit where it's due, the hotel contacted me immediately and upgraded us so we were not to be inconvenienced on our arrival.
The hotel location is superb right in the centre of the town, but don't worry they have a large car park for guests at rear of hotel.
Our room was The coach house, very well decorated with a huge comfy double bed, excellent facilities and immaculately clean en suite bathroom.
We had breakfast the two days and it was delicious.
Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful.
We can't wait for our next visit.

Room tip: Just speak to reception and they will accommodate your wishes

Having experienced a very disappointing visit to the Celtic Manor recently, I booked an overnight stay in the Dial House Hotel, in Bourton on the Water to help salvage an anniversary evening debacle. On arrival we were met by a very pleasant lady who showed us to our room. it was on the third floor and there was no lift, the stairs were very rickety and the Hotel looked quirky to say the least. The room was difficult to get to and a low ceiling and narrow corridor did not help. However, the room was very nice and the facilities were excellent. We booked a table in the restaurant for our evening meal before we arrived so we then investigated the village a little further. We had been before some years ago, but were not disappointed as it is a beautiful, quintessential english village - but with tourists everywhere.

When we returned for our evening meal we were waiting in the lounge and were brought 3 hors deuvres which were delicious and a very pleasant start to our meal. We had an amuse bouche at the table and 3 courses of the finest prepared and presented food I have had in a very long time. The service was first class and even the mood music playing in the back ground was to our taste - some jazz. A short visit to the lounge before bed finished a delightful evening.

The next morning after a good sleep brought a breakfast as good as any I have had and again the service and execution of all aspects was second to none. I must say that after usually using this web site to criticise service it is with great delight I can certainly recommend anyone to visit this quaint hotel, with great staff and a chef who is the piece de resistance - Very Well Done to all ot the Dial House Hotel - we will be back again soon.

Room tip: I would pick a ground floor room if you have mobility issues

Stayed on the Sunday evening of the August bank holiday weekend after attending the Big Festival held c 10 miles away. Very lucky to find a vacancy I expect for the bank holiday weekend as all rooms were taken. Arrived at 1030 pm as planned and was met with a warm smile by the young lady on reception who showed us to our room in the adjacent coachhouse and also offered to open the bar which we considered and declined !!
Nice room - well decorated, very clean and a new bathroom with separate shower and bath. Probably the biggest bed and most comfortable we have ever slept in
Breakfast was good although the waiter was a little frosty possibly as we arrived at 955 amwith last orders at 10am - the reason was we had a deep sleep!!! However a smile would not have gone amiss - all said he sourced Soya milk for my partners tea which was very much appreciated. A well cooked breakfast with toast etc
Hotel is set in a beautiful garden and before we left sat in the yard in the sun drinking coffee. Unknown to us the world had descended on Bourton on the Water for bank holiday but the hotel is an oasis at back and so quiet.
All in all recommend the hotel, a beautiful village but on bank holiday too many tourists ( of which we were two!)

Room tip: we had coach house room 410 which had the most comfortable bed ever !!! didn't see other rooms but am sure would be as well decorated

Well it's 12pm and here I am in for another night of no sleep. I have to say the staff, location food are all excellent.....but the bed is a 0 out of 10. Two nights in room 6 no sleep last night and I s looking that way again. The bed is so small it feels like my husband and I are either hanging on for dear life or half hanging out the bed. The pillows are like flat frizbys and even folding them in half does not work. You could not swing a cat in the bathroom in fact we had to turn the towel rail off as every time you sit on the toilet you burn yourself.
Perhaps it's sleep deprivation that's causing this negativity I have loved being away but God am I looking forwards to going home tomorrow. Do not book into room 6.
