Stayed in the hotel for our wedding anniversary and we made a fab choice! Room was wonderful and so was the food. We ate in the Italian and had Sunday lunch there. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, we would definitely stay there again. This is a great place to use as a base for the Cotswolds.

We stayed in the Chester house hotel over the weekend of our ruby wedding anniversary along with our son and daughter, their spouses and three young grandsons. The hotel was really good and very family friendly. The staff were exceptionally helpful and treated our grandsons like their most important customers. We held a family dinner party in the hotel restaurant and the food was delicious with good prompt service. When a totally unpredictable problem occurred with my son's bedroom and his family had to be rehoused for the night, the staff could not have been more apologetic and helpful. Furthermore, without any suggestion on my part we were more than generously compensated. It's when something like that occurs that you can tell the best hotels from the rest. This is undoubtedly one of the best.

We stayed in the four poster bedroom Wednesday the 21st. It was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, divine. It's a few minutes walk to the town centre which we preferred rather than being located near the noisier pubs , and is actually about £20 cheaper than the other places in the little town centre . I've stayed in the dial house , the most expensive place to stay and I much prefer this one . The breakfast is delicious. The local sausages and bacon were a very high standard . Martin serves it very efficiently and quickly. Bourton it's self is a lovely little village . Check out the quirky motor museum it's very enjoyable and less than a fiver entrance fee. The croft restaurant is excellent for dinner but try to book if possible because it gets very busy.

We stayed for 4 nights, using Bourton as a base to visit the local areas. The hotel was very well maintained and the staff could not have been more accommodating.
Bourton gets very busy during the day with coach parties and day trippers but before 10am and after 6pm it is a beautiful peaceful place to be.
The hotel waiting staff are all young and enthusiastic and what they may lack in etiquette they more than make up for in enthusiasm and friendly helpfulness.
We ate at the in-house Italian restaurant on the first night and it was very nice if not spectacular, we ate at the restaurant over the road also owned by the hotel on another night and the food there say of a much higher standard and very enjoyable.
The room was clean, large and comfortable and tidied daily.
Wi-fi is restricted to the main hotel mind and as we were at the other end of the car park we weren't able to connect and with little phone signal in the area we were quite cut off from contact.... Bliss!
On the whole I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to get away from it all and enjoy the 'Venice of the Cotswolds'

Oh and Birdland is actually well worth a visit.

Stayed here for the weekend, perfect choice, great location. Friendly and helpful staff, it was a really enjoyable experience. Hotel rooms a little like motel rooms but clean and comfortable and adequate. Had dinner in the Italian restaurant and it was absolutely first class

Our comfortable room was spotlessly clean and quiet. We requested a room in the main (old) building and were glad we did. The annex is indeed subject to noise from the parking lot. Service was friendly and casual. The hotel restaurant was closed the first evening of our stay and we had difficulty finding a place to eat in the crowded village. Many shops and places to eat close up once the day-trip throngs vanish. Wish we had made a reservation at Croft upon arrival.. Ate at the Chester House the second night and it was delicious as were the full breakfasts.

Room Tip: Stay in the main house.

We were booked into this lovely hotel as a party of three families who were staying to celebrate a ruby wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our room was lovely, clean and bright and the beds were very comfortable. Even the loo roll screamed quality! On the first night one of our party had a pipe burst in their room. It was just one of those things that couldn't be helped. The hotel was fully booked but the hotel staff went out of their way to sort out alternative accommodation near by, with one member of staff even transporting the family and their luggage to the temporary hotel. When a room became vacant the next day and they returned they were delighted to find a bottle of prossecco on ice waiting for them in their room. We celebrated the anniversary with a meal in the hotel's Italian restaurant. The food was delicious and the service both there and in the bar was impeccable, the staff were so friendly and great with the children. The children's toy selection in the bar was a really thoughtful touch as this kept them happy while we enjoyed a glass of wine. I normally dread going to "nice" hotels with small children but the fact that they were obviously very welcome here made for a much more relaxing stay for us as parents. We were more than satisfied with how well the burst pipe incident was dealt with at the time, but to discover on check out that the hotel weren't going to charge us for two of the three rooms we had booked for the weekend was way more compensation than was necessary for the slight inconvenience we experienced. Thank you to all of your fabulous staff. We have had a wonderful weekend staying with you and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Bourton is a beautiful place and your customer service is exemplary!
