My partner and I had a few days in the Cotswolds to celebrate his 60th birthday. Shona and Graham very kindly greeted us with a card and a box of chocolates, and continued to do everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Our ground floor room was through the conservatory and suited us perfectly as it was wonderfully quiet, with a Kingsize bed and a large en-suite shower. The house is kept beautifully clean, and the breakfast is excellent - including a delicious fresh fruit salad, home-made muesli and locally sourced smoked trout. Fresh milk in a thermos was much appreciated for tea and coffee in our room. My only suggestion would be the provision of filtered water too, as the water from the bathroom tap tastes of chlorine. We bought some bottled water from the local shop so all was well. The house is perfectly placed for a stay in Bourton - just a couple of minutes walk down to the main street. Shona is a mine of information if you're not sure where to visit, and she knows all the best places to eat in The Cotswolds. Even if you don't like dogs, you won't mind Choco. She'll come and show you her toy red sausage then she'll head straight back to her bed! There is no doggy smell in the house at all - it's immaculate throughout. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Cranbourne House for a stay in The Cotswolds.
