Southlands is a wonderful b & b. The hosts made us very welcome and the two affectionate, beautifully behaved golden retrievers just made our stay perfect! The room was delightful, the bed extremely comfortable, breakfast excellent and location good. Would highly recommend.

It is in a good location and is quite close to the Birdland just off the High Street. The room is of good size and everything is normal that you would get in a Guest house. I was just concered with the cleaniness with the sinks. When we moved in, there were still hair on the sink from previous occupier. The breakfast is average and made off cheap deal products . Overall, the hosts are friendly and there is ample car park with beautiful garden at the front.

When you have a dog and want to find a nice place to stay in quite possibly the most beautiful village in the country, things can be difficult. So we were very lucky indeed to find Southlands. It's a small place just outside the main part of Bourton-on-the Water (5 mins walk). It only has a few rooms in the main house plus a self contained cottage next to it that we were in. First impressions were a bit mixed as we had thought that the cottage was next to the garden and away from the main house but found this not to be the case on arrival (I don't even know where we got this impression from but anyway, it turned out to be next to the house and driveway and separated from the garden). However, by the time we had unloaded all our stuff, this minor disappointment was forgotten, The cottage is quite large with 2 doubles and 1 single room and is nicely decorated and equipped throughout. (I have no idea about the rooms the main house as we did not see them but assume they are of similar standard). The owners were very friendly and had two dogs of their own so we felt more at ease having brought ours along for the long weekend.
All the attractions of Bourton-on-the-Water are within easy walking distance (Birdland, The Model Village, Motor museum etc) but the most stunning attraction is the village itself. It gets packed with tourists during the day but is still absolutely beautiful and the perfect place to relax. It is also, perfectly placed as a base for touring around the rest of the Cotswolds.
You HAVE to visit this village and Southlands is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay whilst you are there.
