We decided to take in this place on the journey home from our holiday, and we were so blesed to have seen it in its glory without crowds of people there. We managed to park in one of the laybys, getting there around 9.30 on a week day. Had a lovely walk along the river to the little bridge, the 'row' peeping above the long reeds of the 'island'. We were lucky enough to get photos without anyone there. It had such a majestic yet peaceful feeling to it. We were lucky on the way back to the car to see an egret catch a fish, oh and a gorgeous little vole enjoying a feast of watercress in the middle of the river. It was heaven on earth for the hour we were there.
