Description: WE DO NOT REPLY TO ANY COMMENTS POSTED. PLEASE CONTACT US DIRECTLY IF YOU WOULD LIKE A REPSONSE. Established 60 years ago, Le Talbooth has grown from a quiet tearoom into the award winning restaurant it is today.Fine dining at its best, in an enviable location beside The River Stour. Le Talbooth suits every occasion from intimate dinner for two to family celebrations or business functions. The 15th century building has three individual dining rooms. The River Room restaurant unfurls onto the impressive open air dining space which is covered by a striking architectural sail. This makes dining outside possible whatever the weather. The old Room, a smaller intimate room with inglenook fireplaces and rich decor and The Waevers Room on the first floor are ideal for private dining parties. Whichever you choose, Le Talbooth will ensure an unforgettable dining experience.

“Feeling a bit flush; Worth every penny :-)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

We visited Le Talbooth last night for dinner. This was my third visit here in the course of the last ten years; each time it has been nothing less than spectacular. Consistently excellent service, incredible food and a beautiful set of surroundings.
Have to say, we are not hoy polloy whatsoever. Given the prices and the standards of experience offered, you will be surrounded by the very well off, but the atmosphere was chatty as opposed to stuffy and overly formal. We felt comfortable and were made to feel very special. As we are not wine conoisseurs, (yet!), we asked staff to recommend both a white and a red to accompany our chosen starters and main. They took on board the flavours we enjoy and brought us two very appropriate glasses of wine each. Water glasses were topped up and a slightly dirty spoon was replaced before we had even noticed the mark!
The food was exquisite and portion sizes perfect. We ate a full three courses without feeling uncomfortably full. Coffee and chocolates were incredible; so delicate were the chocolates, I can only assume they were handcrafted by fairies. :-D
On leaving, staff saw us out and helped us into our jackets feeling thoroughly spoilt by such a wonderful evening.
I am angling for Milsoms to cater for my wedding. In my mind, there is no other restaurant that comes even close to tgmhis level of perfection in our area. Save up and splurge because it will be worth every penny. :)

“Boxing Day Birthday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

I was taken to Le Talbooth for my birthday on Boxing Day and I have to say it was the best meal I have ever had.The whole experience was wonderful, the staff were on hand yet discreet and the food was amazing. Having worked there 30 years ago it was great to see that the attention to detail still existed. Highly recommended.

“Another excellent luncheon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Following our third meal at Le Talbooth in the last 8 weeks I felt compelled to write a review. The standard of food has always been very good but now it is consistently excellent. The flavours, combination of ingredients and presentation are sublime. Today's menu demonstrated this perfectly. The venison carpaccio with tiny horseradish croquettes and pickled shallots set the taste buds tingling with expectation for the main. And I was not disappointed. The loin of mutton and pie was rich in complexity of taste and depth of flavour. The cheese was probably my least favourite course. Although perfectly adequate there was not enough variety of texture in the cheeses. However the dessert picked up again with the most amazing custard tart. So soft and perfectly cooked; easily comparable to that of the master Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley! Great wine and the new subtle and elegant decor made today another success. Can't wait for my next visit in a few weeks time.

“Fantastic location and outstanding food”

This is in a very old house, low ceilings and fantastic food. Not the cheapest but worth the splurge.
