What a wonderful place to visit.

We had the predictable tea and scones with tiptree jam - lovely

After we had eaten we had a walk around the museum and we were both plesantly suprised. It was so interesting and informative.

You are never to old to learn new things!

Wonderful place to have a cream tea with lovely light scones, Wilkins jams and of course clotted cream, good selection of other home made cakes and meals.
Always a treat to attend, staff lovely and even when I have taken a relative in a wheelchair they have been so helpful and attentive.

well today sat 16th march 2013. we all went to tiptree jam museum and tea rooms for mothers birthday treat. we found it very busy. there was a continual wait for the tea rooms but was very worth it the staff was very welcoming. and ready for our orders. the food was bought out very quick hot fresh and delicious. even though it was very busy there was no rush to leave our tables. the museum is laid out very well and there is a video to watch, with seating area . the shop is filled with an abundance of goodies to buy there is plenty of parking spaces and outside eating area if the weather is fine. All in all we had a very pleasurable afternoon.

We googled 'what to do on a rainy day in Essex',wrote down some suggestions and headed out for the day. Our first stop was Tiptree. Yummy carrot cake(what a huge slice!) and coffee in the waitress service cafe. The museum is small but very informative.Other items in the shop were very expensive but the jam, wich is what we wanted was very reasonable and many varieties we have not seen in our supermarkets. Our total visit was over an hour ,great to fit in with other visits on a wet day. We will return in the future and try the lunch or tea.

My daughter and I have just had lunch at the Tea Room. There is a good choice on the main menu and there is also a 'specials board' to choose from. They serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, reasonably priced and all the dishes I saw looked delicious., from sandwiches to main meals. The service is very good and the staff very friendly. It was very busy and there was a queue of people waiting to be seated. There is also the Museum to have a look round, not very big, with a short video show you can watch and walk around the old machinery and photos - the Queen visited here in October 2010. There is also a gift shop selling a variety of Jams and preserves, sauces, and gifts from candles to teapots. Parking is available.
