“Perfect location”
Reviewed July 4, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This cottage is one of 8 Victorian Style terraces, set in a row right next to the river ( well it's very tidal , sometimes mud as is typical of English rivers.)

The cottage is perfect, it looks very recently renovated, very clean and well maintained.
The town of Rye is just steps away as are restaurants and pubs.
The owners are very helpful, in fact one day we had TV problems and within hours the owner had arrived to fix the problem.
Both bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs.
The " second bathroom" is just a toilet in the laundry room.

The kitchen has most of what you would want, as a keen cook a blender would have been nice, but hey I am on holidays.
There's loads of lovely food shops around an a surprising good supermarket not far away.
We stopped at Salt Farm Market on the way in and bought Romney Marsh Lamb which was stunning.
The only negative is the fact there is some kind of industrial estate virtually next door. The road out front is not paved and when we were there there were a few potholes full if water.
The heavy duty trucks, started arriving around 7 am and went all day until around 8 or 9 PM. The main bedroom faces this road, so don't expect to sleep in. Night time is lovely and quiet.

“Lovely cottage in perfect location!”
Reviewed June 3, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Tilling View is a lovely place to stay in Rye, very clean and comfortable and a stones throw from Rye's quaint streets, shops and cafes. We would love to return sometime.

“Lovely little house perfectly situated for exploring historical Rye.”

The house is bright, spacious, warm and comfortable. Great attention to detail in it's decoration and finishes it is lovely to come back to after a day out walking or sightseeing. Tilling View is very close to the Main Street in Rye with a great choice of cafes and restaurants but far enough away to be quiet and has parking right outside.
You will definitely enjoy your stay in Rye if you choose this property.

“Well appointed house in ideal location”

We arrived at this pretty house to find wine, flowers and fresh fruit, which was a lovely touch. The house is tastefully decorated and has everything you need including a well equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, a large TV, plenty of towels, washing machine and dishwasher, books, games and DVDs. Ideally located on the edge of town, with parking right outside, and the beautiful town centre just a few minutes walk across the road; it was nice to leave the car and not worry about parking charges. The house fronts the canal and backs onto a small industrial area so there were some occasional passing lorries but this did not cause undue disturbance, and we found it generally very quiet. The beds were comfortable and bedding was provided. My only criticism would be that the duvets were winter weight which was too hot for July. As a 'hot bod' I took the precaution of bringing a light one from home. We had a lovely week here, it's a great base for exploring the area.

“Well located and comfortable”
Reviewed July 26, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Tilling View is a spacious, clean and comfortable cottage ideal as a base to explore Rye and the surrounding area. There is a large TV and sofas in the living room, and a good sized kitchen with ceramic hob. The main bedroom has a comfortable bed and looks out over the river. It all makes a very nice place to stay, but perhaps best of all it is located right on the edge of the town centre, away from traffic noise (except for the occasional lorry going into the depot next door, but they didn't disturb us) but near enough to walk into the town in minutes. You can see the Ship Inn and Simply Italien restaurants on the Strand from the lounge window, both are a stones throw away and offer good food. Unusually for Rye, there is adequate parking outside for two cars, this is a real plus as car parks in Rye are expensive and often full in the summer. If you want to spend some time in Rye it would be hard to find somewhere better.
